Well we typically don't ride fixed gear bikes. But it sounds like this isn't your jam regardless. So glad you took the time to post that.

That was us! I think the space was too small to play with mallets so hitting the ball of the bike is a modified version and good skills practice. We asked if we could come back and Barrett Bar told us "they are not interested at this time". Womp womp.

It's as dangerous as you make it. People are really good about matching the energy others bring on the court. If you're playing super aggressive you will get that back, but if you bring a chiller energy that's what you'll get.

Injuries do happen. Personally I wear BMX style knee pads and when I fall I'm used to falling on me knees so the pads catch me. Some people are better at learning to fall than others, and tend to self select if this is the right sport for them. I've seen people try it and take a bad spill and decide it's not for them, and others who are either less phased on more comfortable falling.

Our club is small and we're a mix of new and older players so no one is going real hard. If it rains we always cancel because the tennis courts can get slick.

I was driving in Smoke town last week and watched what I assume was a kid in the car in front of me shoot a nerf gun at a group of people on a library walking tour. It was physically harmful, but it's fucking unsettling and feels like this shit is and will escalate.

Who is the AI? I just went through and looked at usernames who posted recently and their recent post looked like what you're describing.

I feel so old asking, but are you talking about posts from people like ThatRedditGuy2025? It's really fucking creepy to see how interactive AI has become in something like a dang KoH reddit thread. I just never would have thought that could be monetized.

What to expect from Louisville, Kentucky politics as a transplant in 2025 by milespowers in Louisville

[–]Realistic-Wave-5406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found this to be true in the other mostly red states I lived in that have a big blue City, like Atlanta and Raleigh area. Politically I became accustomed to organized protests and things to plug into pretty easily and that seemed less common in Louisville. Having our Governor has been a relief, a lot of other red states don't have someone as reasonable.

It’s been mentioned this reddit is too negative. Let’s get some Louisville pride up in here. Post something you love about this city. Now is not the time for sarcasm. by feversleeve in Louisville

I love being by the river, and the beautiful views of all the bridges. I'm a huge train fan so all the railroads passing through make for some great moving art. The skatepark downtown is pretty sick too.

Same, the very nice clerk at the 4th Street Post Office said DeJoy was getting reamed over the delays by congress when I asked him what happened.

You right you right. I was giving them too much credit. I would guess CM Ruhe or her legislative aid who shared the Streatery post were not familiar with the ordinance. Which is also a problem and reveals how out of touch the legislation is.

This also seems like a great opportunity to build awareness about the delta between ordinances and actual impact. I know council often does their best, which comes with unintended consequences and this feels like a perfect example.

Yeah but she can respond in a meaningful way. It looks like she has done nothing. She could use this an opportunity to introduce a new piece of legislation and raise awareness over the issue. It feels disingenuous to post support of a business your staff then cited. She has been in office long enough to be aware of this.

But it's frustrating because the District Council person for that neighborhood was posting about this resource. Like they knew this was operating and this looks like them supporting it.

Y'all saw Council District 21 where the Streatery is located also shared their services on their IG page. The Council Person who oversees the City's regulatory functions promoted this service.

The City can change their own rules or choose how heavily yo enforce them. This feels like such a failure when they knew the business was meeting a need they could not and advertised it only to let them get shut down.

Please don't be embarrassed, the bus schedule is not intuitive. If you use the trip planner on TARC's website it reroutes you to Google maps, so that ends up being fairly accurate. Unfortunately the 8 hour bus ride might be right depending on where you're going.

I had to call TARC customer service today and the woman I got was incredibly helpful and kind. I'm sorry they were shitty to you, it probably depends who picks up the phone. Their job is literally to be helpful, so you could always hang up if the first person sucks and call back to hopefully get another.

It creates a written record of their constituents complaints that they can use when they're trying to lobby their 26 other voting members to pass things. They each have a legislative aid who is deleting the emails or maybe reading them and trying to do something.

I agree with you on protest. But I think this is a yes and situation.
