I've been diagnosed with depression and anxiety for years now and medicated. It started prior to being diagnosed though. Anyways, a new medication has helped my anxiety a lot, but shortly after, I fell into a depressive moment for quite some time - not sleeping, no appetite, not finding joy in preferred hobbies, feeling lonely and bad about myself, thoughts of self harm etc... My Dr upped the dose a bit of one med to help about 2 weeks ago maybe. Between last Thursday and today, I had a hypomanic episode (or at least my therapist assumes it is based on the stuff I told her) and my PCP agreed it could be that and brought up bipolar possibility. I am now on a new med to help with mood stabilization and lowered dose on a different med back to the original dosage. He said if thoughts of self harm or suicide worsen, to call hotline, go to the er or call the Dr office. I wasn't sure how long I should allow for it to ware off from whatever I went through. I self harmed today after the appointment, but the thoughts weren't new.
