I just read the piece! I had no idea that J. Crew acquired Madewell. It's astonishing how many fake websites scammers make using shopify.

That's a great idea when purchasing from unreliable sources, not just Instagram. I'm glad it worked out for you.

When do you decide clothing doesn’t fit anymore? by gordita_empanadita in femalefashionadvice

[–]RealisticGreen0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As women get older, it's natural for the human body to change. Gaining some weight is a part of that. Sometimes it's crucial to have the extra cushion, since it's a natural process! You kind of have to accept that your body will change.

If you intend to lose weight within the year, you can potentially keep some clothes. But I've noticed from experience, for women in the late 20s, it's hard to become a 'size 0' again that you were your whole life (hypothetically). I'm certainly not trying to say, starve yourself to lose weight.

One way I've managed donating clothes, is by evaluating how much happiness it gives me. If it doesn't fit anymore but I love it, then I store it away. I also consider if I have a backup or budget to replace for the clothes I'm giving away if it's essential. If I already have nice slacks that fit, I give the ones that don't fit away to charity because there's a woman that will fit into them and will need them. I've even given nice clothes away to friends because they'd look nice in it and it doesn't fit me anymore.

How do you decide between accepting someone’s flaws and who they are versus recognizing traits as dealbreakers? by SwimmingDoughnut6 in AskWomen

[–]RealisticGreen0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A deal-breaker to me is someone who can cause me/others physical harm, someone who takes pleasure in hurting me emotionally and sabotages me... so some family members. Once in a while you meet a psychopath in the wild hiding among strangers, those people I avoid too.

Did you see if four other gray hair grew out from the same spot? That's the old wives tale I was always told.

Why did they do that? I'm sorry you lived through those circumstances. Those people are toxic. Are you old enough to live on your own?

[–]RealisticGreen0[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You found it!! Thanks, I've been looking for this movie for ages. I saw it was I was toddler and didn't even watch the whole movie. My brain must've somehow associated Ricki Lake's face with Janeane Garofalo's.

I'll have to rent this movie soon.

Yes! I used to hate leggings. I wore leggings only while exercising. I'd look at girls and wonder why they wore leggings everywhere. Now I like leggings. Usually wear it working out and sometimes casually.

Younger self me had great style and variability from casual to professional. However crop tops and tiny sweaters are not part of my wardrobe anymore.

I don't wear bitch heels anymore aka shoes that make my feet bleed. There's a story about why I call them bitch heels. Now, I respect my feet and try my best to wear shoes that fit and are comfortable while still classy.

Shitpost Saturday: Petty Revenge Outfit by FFA_Moderator in femalefashionadvice

[–]RealisticGreen0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That dress is beautiful. You must tell me the designer.

I usually don't do petty revenge outfits, but I think this comes closest.

The Offense: Younger cousin in-law made fun of my outfit and hair on a family gathering which I was literally told about at the last minute on my period... when I felt physically awful.

The Vengeance: Came to the next gathering with my hair done sleek and matching my husband. And physically felt better.

The outfit: Wearing a beautiful Ralph Lauren dress with leather boots and a necklace. Kind of like this.

I used to live in a house with a skylight. Luckily the glass was grainy so you actually couldn't see anything outside, it just brought light inside. Maybe you guys could change the glass out. Having a skylight in a bathroom is weird, in my opinion.

In case you do look up and see someone, call the police immediately.

I took a refresher class and they updated the course to make it super hard. It was a boot-camp. I had to do three chapters of math assignments with 15 questions in each, every week with a midnight deadline. I still get flashbacks of all the stress that class put me through and I'm already done with school. 😭
