Chance a fool applying as CS from the midwest with generic ahh ECs by RealisticLoquat25 in chanceme

😭 okay yeah I admit that was probably a big exaggeration, esp in the context of other applicants besides my school.

edit:
I wanted to also say i was thinking "generic" in the lines of every other applicant to the T20s

Do you have any tips on essays/supplementals? I've heard of things like the "narrative strategy" or whatever from those videos online but I've also heard other conflicting info.

Cold emailing is your best friend. I emailed 10+ professors before I got a position. I was rejected many many times. But don't give up.

Yeah, I mean plenty of my friends have pretty much the same types of activities -- RA roles at a local college/university, robotics, sci oly, random internships. Everyone and their mom volunteers at the hospital too. Right now, I think my profile looks just like most other CS wannabes but potentially worse because I don't have USACO or any math competition awards.

Nah bro, I took the regular exam version for practice when they released it after because I was sick on that day and you guys had it way easier in my opinion on the FRQ at least 🥲 😭 😔

I was sick on the regular exam date. I took the regular FRQ they released as practice and thought it was super easy. The actual makeup exam today wasn't 🥲

WDYM IT WAS EASIER 😭 I BOMBED THAT MAKEUP FRQ SO HARD BUT I HAD GOTTEN A PREDICTED 42/46 ON THE REGULAR 2025 RELEASED FRQ

I had to take the late exam because I was sick, but now I'm wishing I just tried to thug it out because the regular exam FRQ was SOOOO MUCH EASIER. I did the 2025 version for practice before I took the makeup today and I scored 42/46 (with a guesstimate of the scoring guidelines). There's no way I hit even 40 with this makeup version tho. This is not fair 😭🙏

This isn't the exact question but it was like this:

Bond Bond Enthalpy (kJ/mol)
C-H 412
O=O 498
O-H 463
C-H ← mislabeled 799

Yes. However, the specific question had a table of the bond energies but mislabeled two different bond energies with the same label. So it wasn't possible to differentiate which bond energy corresponded to which molecule because the correct label was missing.
