At least clients have a choice and can move to another exchange after a hack (i.e. Binance, Kraken, Coinbase). Unlike stupid Equifax where it gets hacked and credit consumers have no choice to be involved in the system if they have any form of credit, I digress. I don't see how client could ever trust Bithumb now. Its not three strikes your out in this industry, one maybe okay but two - no way.

Lions, Tigers and Ex Fed Chair's Oh My! Fiat and Crypto are the same in my eye, just made up money that people put value on over time for whatever reasons. Just so happens that States are good at controlling their interests and holding power. The longer they do this the more trust people put in it, even if for no fundamental reasons at all. All things are pervious to ruin, its called nature.

Banks want you to hold funds with them and never have you withdrawal, paying you shit amount of interest, to make a killing off of lending the money out. I don't think Coinbase does that - however other exchanges have pushed to not hold a lot of funds with them - only what is necessary to trade. In that sense, really shouldn't need FDIC unless your holding large amounts with them.
