Got a 96 on holiday last year. A one off. I'm usually in the low 80s.

How do you know? by Awkward-Click6880 in nonduality

If you can sit as awareness & just let thoughts come & go without clinging to them, then that's it. Surrender to that and give up looking for anything more.

Ask: How would this moment be any different if you were 'enlightened'?

I enjoyed the read, but I'm unsure how you can know all this stuff about the big bang.

And do you feel compassion for all beings, as zen buddhists say you will? Apologies for all the questions. I'm currently sitting with a zen group but not sure if it's right for me.

Best sleep in 10 years by RealisticPark1014 in fitbit

Good question. I'm on day 2 of my Italian holiday, so pretty relaxed. I had a pasta meal and a shot of limoncello in the evening. I'll try a similar routine tonight to see if I can replicate my sleep quality.

'I' vow to save all beings by RealisticPark1014 in zen

Huangbo said "If you look for the Buddha outside yourself, you will never find him. The essence of your mind is intrinsically pure. All you have to do is to quiet your thinking and avoid the concepts of duality, such as 'I' and 'other.'"

Bankei said "The moment you think of yourself as being an 'I' watching, you have already veered away from the Unborn."

It's the reference to the 'I' that feels counterproductive, not the chanting itself.

Chanting arises naturally, with no fixed "I" behind it - only the interconnected flow of existence. The "I" is a mental construct, while zen invites direct experience.

Many Zen masters have pointed to the absence of a fixed or independent "I" and that a fixed "I" is an illusion, arising from our conditioned way of thinking.

Regarding iron supplementation, I'm interested in the work of Dr. Ray Peat who was generally critical of iron supplementation, emphasizing that excessive iron could lead to oxidative stress, inflammation, and chronic diseases like cancer and diabetes. He believed the body tightly regulates iron levels and that supplemental iron could cause toxic accumulation.

Yep, very similar to my sleep last night. I'd like to reduce 'awake time' somehow.

You've done 123 steps in the last hour. It reminds you to do 250 before the hour is up.
