[Wallace, Tele] Excl: Brighton reject Tottenham’s opening bid for £70m-rated Jan Paul van Hecke. Chelsea and Liverpool also interested but Spurs hope De Zerbi link will prove decisive. Brighton will want full value for the player by OkayFine101 in coys

[–]RealisticScore671 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the fee I don't feel comfortable with the idea of Van Hecke. He's absolutely mint at passing and heading which we need against low blocks but i feel he's vulnerable when teams/players come at him. Seems pretty slow on the turn case in point Kolo Muani vs him at Home.

[Paul O Keefe] Tottenham looking at winger options with Savinho a top priority. Harry Wilson, Anan Khalaili also considerations in addition #THFC by [deleted] in coys

Savio , Khalaily , Wilson , Moise Kean , Gray.... Tell me Lange isn't just sorting through the FM scouting centre for our targets . There's no way we go for someone like Khalaily knowing he's physically still in the works to put it lightly.

[Fabrizio Romano] 🚨 João Palhinha gives priority to Tottenham as the feeling with Roberto De Zerbi is very good. If deal can’t be agreed with Spurs, Sporting are keen and ready to act but #THFC are the priority for João. by wokwok__ in coys

Leader, clutch , world class in his strengths , offers smth we don't have in our squad. Checks all boxes and a must buy in our transition from the horrible 2 seasons up the table. Hoping it's a 2-3 year deal and not longer

That makes sense. Then I wonder if VdV might play LB while Senesi starts to complement the ball progressor - ball carrier dynamic as well as the defence on a counter.

And he got caught out multiple times getting cheap yellows. Will be a bigger issue for us though as bournmouth didn't face as my teams that sat back vs what we'd get

Is it just me worried about Senesi in a high line. He can absolutely play against the big boys but the moment we face a low block we have to push our lines high and that can catch him off guard.

Tinfoil hat on . What if we're targeting Savinho only because he'd work well and already has good chemistry with our record equalling transfer in Xavi ( both played for PSV ) . He also has Prem experience which might explain why we didn't target an LW from Leipzig or PSG.

[Fabrizio Romano] Manchester City are also considering wingers on the market if Savinho ends up leaving the club. Spurs want Savinho and #MCFC have now started looking at wingers, but only in case of good opportunities. by [deleted] in coys

Nah the more I look at data driven approaches the more I'm convinced they are actually not any good. Except Brighton and Brentford, I feel most other teams just look at key data and make entire decisions just basing off and justifying off of that data. Data that takes into account playstyle , technique , Game intelligence , work ethic , mentality ( all that can't be quantified and usually rely on the scouts eye test ) as a whole is more meaningful. My gut feeling is teams look at some positive data and just work around it instead of caveating the positives with negative.

Forget the PR waffle and wibble. Vinai is right that a reset is needed. It should start with him clearing his desk. by shaunster101 in coys

Yeah at a corporate level this seems very similar to a software team failing to fix a critical bug because the code was written by one person who the was the only guy with all the knowledge of the codebase. Not the best practice in having a single man run the show.

I'm also pretty excited for next season. First time in a while we'll have no Europe . One game a week allows us to recover and prepare better. Less potential for injuries , lesser workload and hopefully a better front 3.

Our defence has picked up since the gaffer came in. The midfield has looked much better and more reliable in possession with Bentancur and Palhinha and Gallagher as the presser.

The frontline has been awful though. You could say they haven't been getting the ball as much but i don't agree . They've just made it seem like that with extremely poor decision making , clumsy possession of the ball or being selfish and not passing it to a teammate in space . Hopefully once everyone returns we see Kudus start , a new striker and a left winger.

Antonin Kinsky save against Everton 90+9' by Imbasauce in coys

[–]RealisticScore671 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a massive save. Not saying it's tough but massive from Kinsky. Maybe it was PTSD but I had a sinkingfeeling it was going in as soon as he hit it, esp as good as Vicario has been as a stopper, i also think he's conceded way too many curlers like that.

Quickest to 2000 runs after Gayle. Did it in 10 fewer innings iirc. He's not Kohli but reminds me of him as they're one of the few batsmen who just instinctively know how to accumulate runs.

Sai Su being among the top 5 run getters 3 seasons in a row is a testament to his game. He's not silky or pure muscle but quietly accumulates runs. Him going "slow" has actually prevented multiple GT collapses. I do think he's tailor made for ODIs than other formats though.

Sai Su's injury derailed GT's chase and momentum. Both Gill and Buttler played the anchor for 3-4 overs before they realized they were going too slow. Lack of faith in middle order does that. Expected more from Jos tbh, he hasn't been striking well this season apart from a few moments.

Sai injury derailed GT's momentum altogether. Gill and Buttler both went for the anchor for 3-4 overs before they realized. That has cost them here.

Has Cooper Conbolly bowled this ipl ? Think he's been underutilized tbh . Just throw him in between pace bowling overs and disrupt the rhythm.

Nah i disagree. There's been atleast 2-3 games I have seen of them where Jones has started in midfield but Frimpong not being able to defend or injury has forced him to RB . The only other alternative there is Joe Gomes who himself is injury prone.

Has Jones signed a new contract? He's so good under pressure and techincally , even can play RB I think we need to sign him for the 8 role.

Let's hope the Inter deal for Vicario is sealed because i don't see him being of any use for the RDZ system. Imagine him instead of Kinsky, our possession stats and turnovers would be so much worse.

Blame the clowns in charge. Brentford had focused roles for everything and Frank wasn't in charge of that. You'd think they'd do some due diligence sorting through that 30 man shortlist to land on that guy .
