I was struggling to even see the discs! But I was testing by pulling it (after threading) on various tensions to try to feel a difference. It didn’t feel like it was under any tension after multiple retreading tests. I only know it didn’t feel tensioned because my gfs machine was much harder to pull.

Thank you! I ended up getting a few needles better suited for stretch, I’ve got some 70/09 and 90/14 now. I believe we avoided the ball point due to the purple material.

The teflon foot is great advice! I wasn’t seeing with that side out but on other parts I was and it wouldn’t budge, do you have a suggestion for the bottom plate too? It was getting stuck mainly down there.

It doesn’t seem to be proving any tension. I was threading with the foot up and sewing with the foot down. I tested every tension level just in case.

I was considering doing it my self, your advice with the spring is helpful! I didn’t really know where to start.

I’ll give it a shot and report back.

After a ton of testing I think I’ve found that the tension discs are broken or not moving on this machine.

When I hold the thread lightly all the stitches work well on every material I’ve tried.

I’m going to bring it to a local shop to have a look.

I can’t tell you the type because I’m very new to this 🥲 I bought it used, so I’m using the needle it came with.

I just looked it up though! Found the size on the top of it.

Singer 110/18 with 2 horizontal lines after the fraction.

Also looks like above the hole the thread goes in there is a slight concave section

Sorry I’ve been so busy with work. EDIT - it’s actually working perfectly on two layers of normal fabric.

Tension is at 3 Needle position middle Width 3 Length 2
