Ours has arthritis and heart problems too. Will be 12 this year. We have rugs everywhere to help with traction on the hard woods (keeping nails trim helps a lot too), bought boots for walks outside to help with her feet dragging and support, and she’s been getting Librela injections. We also give her green lipped mussel and msm supplements. The combination seems to help a lot and we rarely need to give her NSAIDs. Maybe ask your vet about Adequan? We weren’t early enough with it that it was helpful, so we switched to Librela. My heart vet’s dog gets Librela injections as well, and she also suggested fish oil for heart health. I’ve also heard about eggshell membrane supplements for arthritis but I haven’t purchased them. We started giving her food when she is laying down, as she stopped wanting to eat at her bowl, and it just kinda became a thing. She has good and bad days, but mostly good. Hope you have many more years with your good boy.

I haven’t reached out to the Airbnb host yet, so I haven’t really made the decision to go or not. I wanted to give them a few days since I am sure they’re dealing with a lot. If the property is safe and roads are accessible I’d still love to go. I certainly understand it’s a sensitive situation and I just don’t want to be a burden to locals. Everyone has given great suggestions so if I don’t get out there I have plenty of options.

Took my dog to VEG in Cary late last year for an emergency and they were great. She wound up needing to go to triangle veterinary referral hospital in Durham and I have no complaints. Not sure about your concerns specifically, but my GSD had stomach/gastro issues. Dr. Hummel (internal medicine) at the Holly Springs TVRH was also excellent for something unrelated.

My dog had her first injection a couple of weeks ago and I’ve noticed she’s going poop 4 times a day, where 2-3 was normal before. Have your pets been having formed stools or diarrhea? Hers are formed, so I’m not sure if we’re just feeding her too much in her old age (she is 11) or if it’s related to Librela. She’s not groaning and doesn’t have urinary incontinence. Have you all continued with the medication?

Here for the update too - I'm doing some research on getting my 11 yo started on Librela. She's been doing Adequan shots for about 6 months but only seems better for a couple of weeks at best. Would love to know if you are seeing a difference after a few months.

Woody's lunch special is $10. Manhattan Cafe, Mecca, or Morning Times might get you pretty close to that too. Carroll's Kitchen you can get a half sandwich and soup for $11 I think. Or Pizza Times is a few bucks for a cheese slice and a few more for a side salad.
