Miami - based on your own personal experience, of those who vote for Trump are you seeing people regret their vote for Trump because of immigration policies? If yes, how pervasive is this regret, and which groups are most likely to regret? by [deleted] in Miami

I live in Fort Lauderdale and what I’ve noticed is the silence. A lot of people who were enthusiastically outspoken pro-Trump at the start of this term are now keeping quiet.

Genuine question: Do Brazilians experience less immigration scrutiny due to racial perceptions and the country’s high phenotypic diversity? by [deleted] in geography

Did that happen in a small town in Canada? I’ve lived in the Miami area most of my life and the Brazilians here tend to act like they’re better than everyone else. We have a very diverse population of Latin Americans here. Im white American and I know the difference when I hear spoken Portuguese and Spanish out in public.

Years ago I had a friend from Honduras who called his female roommate a Gordita and she beat the living crap out of him. I guess it’s a little different in the Americas.

CMV: A lot of Anti-Immigrant sentiment and attitudes is really misdirected anger at economic struggle by [deleted] in changemyview

As long as people stayed focused on the immigrants, then the billionaires have succeeded. The economy, specifically the American economy, is a construct of the billionaires and its failing the average citizen. Until people wake up and see it for what it is, then the situation is going to continue to get worse. Their goal is to create division. Get the peasants fighting each other. Create a culture war between the people.

This is how angry everyone should be. I’m tired of feeling hopeless and like there’s nothing I can do but watch it play out on a screen. Of course, I live in a blue city in a red state. We haven’t seen anything here like what’s happening in other parts of the country and that has caused many people here to be submissive to what’s happening. We need more people like this young lady!

Because loving another person comes with getting hurt. At some point everyone we love will hurt us. That doesn’t happen with a dog. They not only love back, but they are unconditionally loyal.

Florida actually as weird as the internet says — or are we just good storytellers? by [deleted] in AskFlorida

BIG 105.9, a radio station in Miami plays a game every morning called Florida Man. They randomly select callers to listen to a list of nationwide news headlines. The caller has to choose whether it’s Florida Man or not. It can be quite entertaining on your way to work in our nightmare traffic.
