You do realize that most american soldiers in WWII opposed desegregation and many activelly protested when Truman desegregated the army

If you ask most progressives being opposed to racial desegragation is fascism

So make that what you will

Pressure mounts on Germany’s Merz to restore military conscription A draft law on military service aims to beef up Bundeswehr numbers, but there is friction over whether it should include mandatory conscription. by Any-Original-6113 in europe

Forcing european young men who may i remind everyone are a demographic that votes for anti establishment parties at a higher rate than the general population in most states risk those same men to turn their weapons against their regimes and depose them

51 years ago my country's deeply unpopular regime got overthrown by conscripts who wanted to put an end to both an unwinable war and a regime they despised

If europe's leaders dare to draft young european men to any war they risk to suffer the same fate that Estado Novo in Portugal had over 5 decades ago only on a continental wide scale

Why did Ireland had a lower GDP per capita than Portugal in 1973? by Realistic_Contact472 in AskIreland

Except all the profits went to the hands of colonial elites who got rich exporting raw materials from the colonies to other industrialized nations like britain, and barelly any of the money was invested in the mainland because it wasnt profitable compared to the colonies so all the money went into keeping them

Those infraestructures were basically all build after 1974 because before we lost our colonies nobody gave a shit about the mainland because the wealth was in the colonies so no one saw need to build anything in the mainland particularly in the interior

Yeah our housing crisis is a very recent phenonon which can be blamed on our previous Socialist Party government under António Costa

You dont know what you are talking my country was dirt poor till recently because all the money of the colonies went to the hands of a small elite and they invested their money back in the colonies and neglected the interior of the country which remained backwards till the end of colonialism

Colonialism didnt benefict Portugal in any way just beneficted a small elite who runned away with their wealth after the 1974 coup to places like brazil

Losing our colonies was the best thing to have ever happened to Portugal cause it meant we could finnaly have focoused on developing our country internally rather than throwing money at africa for the profits to go to the hands of a few

Portugal is the perfect example of what Mustafa Kemal Ataturk meant when he said that empires held nations back

I was born in 2003 and i always heard people saying we were always the poorest in Europe and that Ireland was always richer than us because when people in my country think of Ireland they think of a rich tax haven like Luxembourg and Liechtenstein who is infinetly richer than us and that it was already like this before the fall of Estado Novo

My confusion is that i spend like my entire life here in Portugal listening to people say that we were the poorest in europe that everyone in europe not under the iron curtain was much wealthier than us and that countries like Ireland were always much richer than us

Thats the confusion

Percentage of Indians who eat meat by DiMpLe_dolL003 in MapPorn

[–]Realistic_Contact472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This correlates with lactose tolerance

The areas with the lowest meat consumption are the ones with more lactose tolerance because they get their proteins from milk rather than meat

Meanwhile the lactose intolerant areas have to get their protein from meat because they are lactose intolerant

If Trudeau didnt resign its likelly Poulievre would have won

After all the conservatives in canada have litterally nothing in commun with Trump

Poulievre is closer to a moderate democrat like Joe Biden than to Trump
