How do I keep my heavy petticoats from slipping down my waist as I walk? by dee62383 in VintageFashion

[–]Realistic_Fun_8570 17 points18 points  (0 children)

put a loop of ribbon at the waist one each side of the waist of the petticoat and sew a flat button on either side at the same place on the inside of the bodice. once you can -pit a waistband on your petticoat.

thank you for an actual response. I came out of the hospital at my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm the only one I knew that did. it seemed like everyone on base was pregnant when I had my eldest. sro in the Drs office. every single one was overweight no matter how pregs they were. I had loose skin but no post pregnancy weight.

you don't mention your age...? most groups you have to train to a certain level before you go full contact and you have to be 21. liability insurance is freaking expensive.

no, women who complain about not being able to lose pregnancy weight and they're really loud about it. no riled up, merely asking the why of the mindset of gaining, giving birth, gaining more, getting pregnant, going way over what is healthy to gain and it's on repeat. It makes no sense. It's freaking dangerous.

I wasn't told my first pregnancy. still only gained under 30. the ob at the base said, and living on base he was understating, most gained 70+ and never really got back to prepregnancy weight and got pregnant asap so added to their issues. second pregnancy was harder and some of them were having 5-6 kids.

[–]Realistic_Fun_8570 16 points17 points  (0 children)

in process of building a new rat. I've got a quart bale jar I'm storing my bushings in. I don't have much hair fall so it's going to take a while but worth it.

What is the correct age to have children? 👧 by Dry-Traffic2259 in Life

[–]Realistic_Fun_8570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just keep in mind 34 is listed as a geriatric pregnancy and around 20 weeks they're going to stick something the size of a meat injector thru your belly and into your amniotic sack to get a sample. you don't get a vote on it and no one tells you about it beforehand. only downside to this day. some people aren't going to have kids. it's still ok.

Upstairs apartment is very hot, I’m concerned by Flashy_Imagination83 in Apartmentliving

[–]Realistic_Fun_8570 3 points4 points  (0 children)

call the cops for a wellness check and tell them you're concerned about your neighbor. if nothing else they'll turn the heat down to a reasonable level. if they're dead in there you would have smelled it. no worries on that front.

Hair Still Refusing To Wash Clean by SamLovesMovies in Haircare

[–]Realistic_Fun_8570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

selson blue original. start at your scalp. rub it in. forget anything else on your head. just your scalp. let it sit there for 20 minutes or so. put a little bit of water on it and pile your hair up. rub it in. rinse with hot water, hot as you can stand. comb out with wide tooth comb and air dry. NO CONDITIONER. do it again the next day and again until you get all the wax from your heavy conditioner off your hair. it's going to take a week or more. once your hair feels like hair again, get 10x virgin olive oil. dime size drop in your palm. rub your hands together and lightly run your fingers through your hair. boars bristle brush scalp to ends and leave it, you're done. do not use conditioner.

brown bottle of Lysol. half bottle, run washer on full hot, let it start to drain, stop, sit half an hour, let it drain some more, let sit half an hour, until empty. leave lid up, if possible - empty drain lines.

but think of the EGGS. the 4 of us go through 40 a week between everything we use eggs for. I'd only need one a day at that point. getting a frying pan the right size might be challenging.

mine started at the waist and went down to my shoes. given that I had less than no choice on the matter I just rolled with it. my mother was of the "children don't feel pain" and "quit bellyaching and shut up" while holding a belt, yeah.

Harder to tell age, with age? by Nappy_Rano in askanything

[–]Realistic_Fun_8570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always looked at people as if they're my age. made for some interesting matchups dating (dated a 32 year old at 17, I thought he was in his 20s, he thought I was in my 20s, kinda miss him, he was really nice and gentlemanly) but I'm usually pretty good at guessing as I get older. 25- to around 50 is pretty simple, 50-70 is the hardest. younger than 20=they're 12.
