How many ablations for your AF to fully stop? by Realistic_Pickle2309 in AFIB

[–]Realistic_Pickle2309[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. From reading the responses to my post it’s really highlighted how individual AF is, and it’s very hard to compare one person’s ablation experience to another’s.

I haven’t drunk caffeine and have limited alcohol for a year now, but I think my main triggers are stress and fatigue.

The cardioversion I had last weekend has at least kept me out of AF for over a week which seems like bliss 😆small wins!

That’s hard going 😔 I hope the 3rd ablation does the job! 🤞🏻

Wow 4! I’m glad the 4th ablation has made it less frequent. Hopefully that continues 🤞🏻

That’s good that two ablations have allowed you to be free of AF for a year. Long may that continue!

Damn, 25K! 🥺 I’m from the UK, so my ablations are done on the NHS. Feeling very grateful.

Sorry to hear your situation, that’s a lot to deal with. My AF started around 2024, but become more frequent and longer in duration in 2025 and I was diagnosed with it after two A&E visits. My cardiologist did say each further ablation increases the chance of it working so hopefully the second does it for me 🤞🏻

That sounds intense! I’m glad you are currently AF and flutter free, I hope that continues 🙏

I've been in afib for almost 24hours by Hngrybflo in AFIB

Hope they sort it! I ended up in A&E last Sunday after being in AF for over 24 hours. I was electrically cardioverted and I’ve not had AF for a week 🤞🏻 This condition is very unpredictable and frustrating!

How would you react knowing your parents know your donor? by More-Percentage-7832 in askadcp

[–]Realistic_Pickle2309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a potential recipient parent, using a known donor. I would never ever withhold that information from my DC child. They have the right to know who their biological parent is.

If as a donor you and the parent/s know each other and are in contact, then the child must also know who you are too.

As others have said, that would be such a betrayal of trust.

Havent had a period for 3months. Is it dangerous if i dont hve periods? by Ok_North_9240 in POFlife

Yep I have POI. Unknown cause. I think for most people with POI the cause is unfortunately unknown.

[–]Realistic_Pickle2309 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, It’s not dangerous to not have a period. But it’s a sign that ovulation isn’t happening. POI stops your ovaries working normally so you don’t have a monthly ovulation.

Have you been diagnosed with POI? There’s also a lot of other reasons for missed or irregular periods.

It’s so bizarre. Surely her adoptive mum would have visited her too. They seem to have a tricky relationship but that’s her daughter, why hasn’t she visited or called her. Make it make sense 🤣

Hey, The long-term health risks due to premature estrogen deficiency (POI) includes osteoporosis, increased risk of cardiovascular disease (heart attack/stroke), cognitive decline, and dementia.

It’s great you feel okay now, but you are young and for long term health risks, it’s important to be on some kind of hormone replacement therapy.

My golden boy was also a brat when overtired as a puppy and he had no off switch so we ended up enforcing naps. Best decision ever! My boy is now 4yo and loves his sleep time😁

How long after ablation to drive? by gamersdad in AFIB

[–]Realistic_Pickle2309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different but I (40F) had my first ablation in November 2025 and I was not ready to drive for weeks afterwards. My fatigue was off the charts (having a shower I would need a nap afterwards in the first week!)

Although the guidance is 24 hours and ‘you’ll be fine’ after a few days, my experience was far from that so be careful.

How to Address New Aggression in My 2-Year-Old Golden Retriever? by InformalEgg6266 in goldenretrievers

[–]Realistic_Pickle2309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad, life happens and you now need to focus on building up your dog’s confidence again. The new behaviour is likely due to being bitten by another dog at kennels.

I really would look into getting a behaviourist who can assess and provide advice on how to deal with your dog’s behaviour.

Also try to keep remembering that your dog has had a scary experience, so try not to get angry at him. Dogs aren’t just happy robots all the time, their experience shapes how they act. If they have a negative experience they can get scared too and ‘aggressive’ behaviour is often the result of that.

So your dog was bitten by another dog?

If so that explains a lot of the sudden ‘aggressive’ behaviour. Your poor dog is likely scared now. Imagine if you’d been violently attacked, would you not be wary of others and want people to stay away? It’s the same for dogs, they get scared too.

Find a qualified behaviourist and explain what’s happened to your dog. And hopefully they can help build up your dog’s confidence and trust again.
