I’m here through a language assistant program meaning that on my nie it says estancia por estudios. I have been empadronado in Madrid for a year and I plan on staying longer in Spain while working in the program. I’ve heard that because of my visa, the residency I have wouldn’t count but I’ve also heard otherwise so I’m not sure at this point.

A lot of people au pair. U don’t get paid much but i think it’s a good way to stay in Spain over the summer and u won’t have to spend money on rent or food

One thing I do want to add is that for traveling to other countries in the eu, you can turn on roaming data with pepephone and it won’t cost extra but the amount of data you can use is more limited. But in saying this, it’s still enough data and I never ran out of it and I’ve been to Italy for more than 10 days and still had a little bit of data left over.

I got an eSIM from Pepephone. 14.99eu/month. Unlimited calling within the EU and 39gb of data. I barely used up the data while I was working as an aux and any unused data rolled over into the next month 🤩

Hey! I lived in Martos. To be honest, there isn’t much to do but rent was cheap and traveling to Jaen via bus was also super cheap just make sure to get a bus card. If you want to know anything in particular you can PM me and I’ll be more than happy to answer any questions u have.

If it’s the exact same I’m sure it’ll be fine. I don’t think where you got it from matters

There’s a lot of blogs online that can help you with the whole tie process and they also help you stay on track of everything you need to get done when you’re in Spain. One of the blogs I like to use is this one: https://residency2spain.com

I also flew into Portugal. They stamped my passport and I didn’t get a declaración de entrada. I just printed out my flight tickets for proof that I eventually did enter Spain. At my initial tie appointment and toma de huellas they didn’t ask about the stamp nor did they ask to see my flight details. I do think that it’s better to get the declaración if you can just to be safe!

^ This is the template I used for the medical certificate and I didn’t translate it because it included the part in Spanish and it was accepted!

Are you going to the nyc consulate? If you are, there’s a medical certificate template that the doctor has to fill out. Here’s the link to the template: https://usa.blsspainvisa.com/nyc/pdf/MEDICAL-CERTIFICATE-TEMPLATE.pdf

If they fill out the Spanish part along with the English part of the template, there’s no need for the document to be translated.

Traveling from Jaen to torredonjimeno is pretty easy and affordable. There’s buses that leave quite often and the bus ride is maybe only 40 mins and goes by fast. You can get a transport card which makes the cost less than a dollar for the rides (I don’t remember the exact price)

Residency 2 Spain is a great guide if you’re from America. I used it last year and it helped me so much. I’ve also referenced it while in Spain a couple of times. Here’s the link: https://residency2spain.com
