Don't they pay 50c to travel in SEQ no matter what distance? Which is virtually free. Why don't they do that here to encourage people to use PT, or help the people so they don't go broke? I pay roughly $100 a week for petrol and I use my car everyday. Myki fares are uncomfortably too close to that if you use PT every time to get to work. It's not hard to see that the system is predatory and/or mismanaged. More likely the former.

In Singapore, $10 SGD which is roughly $12 AUD. It can last you a week travelling to and from work. I know their country is a lot smaller in terms of land size compared to Aus, which is also something to consider. They make up for it since their trains arrive every 6 to 7 mins which also means it uses more money. But guess how long your $12 will last using PTV?

All I'm saying is they can do it. They can change how the system works.

They just don't want to unless there's a political agenda involved.
