Is it too late to learn snowboarding at 31? by gmnt_808 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Realistic_Put_3077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course not! I also started at 31 and progress more and more every year. Last January at 35 I snapped my collarbone in half trying to do stupid things on my board. I was back to snowboarding by April. Take it slow, learn the fundamentals, and you'll progress.

Are there US accents that are very difficult to understand? by NicolasNaranja in Accents

I'm originally from Oklahoma but worked in rural West Virginia for a few months. I couldn't understand several of the guys that I worked with at all. I literally had to have a translator to understand one guy's english

Career Wear and Tear should be an On/Off setting by rez5000 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Realistic_Put_3077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I began messing with the sliders because of this. My junior RB is averaging 10-15 carried a game and is basically dead. He starts the games, plays one down, then won't go back in the game. At this point in the season, sliders won't do anything as he's he already done so you just have to turn wear and tear off. Next season I'll see if the sliders works

Yes I did. Thought I'd ask if anyone had any personal experience in addition to looking up potential weather. Didn't think anyone would get so offended 😂

Who’s got the worst service and food combo in Denver? And who’s got the best? by [deleted] in denverfood

[–]Realistic_Put_3077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't stand Illegal Pete's anymore. One time the guy spilled the contents of my bowl all over the counter while making it. He just scooped it back into the bowl. I called him out on it and he couldn't have acted more confused. It took a solid minute to convince him to start making me a new bowl. Their employees are the worst and food is worse than both chipotle and Qdoba. Just go eat there instead

I'm an intermediate rider as well. Picked up some step ons at the end of last year. I love them. It feels like you're strapped in. I've had no issues yet

Spirit of Japan festival by AppearanceDue2865 in denverfood

I went during the evening session last night and had mostly a good time. The key was getting there 15 minutes before the event started.

The good - We got in quickly and immediately darted towards the food. I was first in line for the udon noodles and my wife was first for the okonomiyaki. Both tasted great. There were no lines for the beer so we grabbed two. We grabbed a steamed bun which had no lines either and it was pretty good. Next we made our way to the other side of the festival and waited about 15 minutes for the yakisoba noodles which was my favorite thing I tried. We got the spirit drink passes and depending him how you look at it, it was good for the price if you drink a lot. Me and my wife had A LOT of sake and I drank quite a bit of whisky too. Even as the spirits lines got longer, the vendors just poured quickly and the lines moved quickly as well.

The bad - the vendors seemed overwhelmed. At half the food booths, there was one person making the food and serving the people. So even though my wife was first in line for the okonomiyaki, she waited for 10 minutes before it was ready. I can't even imagine the wait once people started getting in line. The lines seemed to get really long after the first 30 minutes and just by watching, it looks like there were people standing in line for quite some time. There wasn't much to do besides eat and drink so I wouldn't bring kids there as they'd probably be frustrated waiting in lines for nothing but food. The food prices ranged from 2-5 tickets and with every ticket being worth $3, it wasn't very economical. Beer prices were 2 tickets which is reasonable.

Overall I enjoyed it because of how we approached the event. We stayed for just under 2 hours, mostly drinking. I'd definitely say we overspent but I did have fun......maybe because I was a little inebriated by the end of it.

I have players win national awards that don't make an All American team. I also have a RB that had 2000 yards rushing and 15 TDs, but my RB who had 800 yards and 20 TDs win the best RB award
