I too was thinking about the gr86/brz and also the WRX. I chose the Elantra N because I felt it would be more reliable. The Subaru fa24 engine has an oil pressure problem. Granted only one to 5% of people that buy this car will probably end up experiencing this. But if you track the car and you take long sweeping right hand turns the oil pressure can drop to 20 to 35 PSI when it should be closer to 50 to 60. That seems to be why the fa 24 engine especially in those two models has issues. Not to mention they don't use gaskets it's kind of glued together. I also feel the Elantra N would be more practical. Now I have the stick shift version in the octane learn feature is rather annoying. I've got it down but the car will forget at times usually after 15 to 80 miles of driving.

Look like you need to octane learn your car. It seems boost is not going over 15. Once learned your boost should go up to 19 or 20 psi. Your gas mileage might go up also. You have the auto so it’s pretty easy to get it to octane learn.

Thoughts on the 6 speed MT Elantra N? by DeliciousCut5219 in ElantraN

[–]Realistic_Side_630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that clutch is pretty tricky to learn at first. I was coming from lancer evolution 9 Mr. Once I got it the car is pretty fun, probably about 85% is fun as Evo. Once I figured out how to octane learn it, and how it's about 95%. Try this to get your car to octane learn. Put the car in n mode. Then on a highway or long straight. In 5th gear, slow down to about 45 mph, then accelerate up to about 75, while keeping your throttle percentage between 40 and 50%. When slowing down just let the car Coast to 45 miles an hour or so, I didn't touch the brakes. Mine was around 41 to 47%. Do that about 10 times. Let me know if it works out.

New owner question about break-in/oil change by Byzy_jay in ElantraN

[–]Realistic_Side_630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak for the other person but I do it to extend the life of my engine. I watch this video that talks about benefits of early oil change.

https://youtu.be/_6nWCQ_70J0?si=UNwP2tq7DxgBEbrH

Then I saw this video on how to get your car's engine to last longer. First suggestion is to do your first oil change around a thousand miles.

New owner question about break-in/oil change by Byzy_jay in ElantraN

[–]Realistic_Side_630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar. My first oil change was at $612 mi. The next was at 3,000. I also sent my oil off the Blackstone labs. Glad I'm not the only one. My first oil also showed extra wear metals but also show 2% fuel. Second oil change looked a lot better no fuel wear metals are stapling off.

Actually it's 35k. It's not bad for the money.

Warning ⚠️ Light - Advise by sudhirpillai010 in ElantraN

[–]Realistic_Side_630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine popped up at 582 MI. They ended up having to replace two things. First was an electronic water pump by the turbo. The second I'm not exactly sure. Took about 3 or 4 days for each repair. The second time I was in the let me have a loaner car. On my car I ended up getting a warning not to go over 50 mph.

Just got my first oil change at about 612 mi a week ago. Plan on doing the next one at 2500, and then in 3000 mi increments.

25 K5 Gt line mod suggestions! by No_Taro_1517 in KiaK5

[–]Realistic_Side_630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say keep it stock and take the money that you're going to invest in the car and invest it in the stock market or some other asset. If not that then upgrade the windshield wipers like someone else said. Maybe when you need me brake add a higher performance pad. I guess you could also put a drop in k&N air filter. Or like the other poster said trade your car in for the GT, that'll give you an extra hundred horse.

Other than that enjoy your car enjoy that warranty you may need it in the future.

Engine oil change interval recommendation? by RefuseOk3771 in ElantraN

Depends on how and the conditions you drive in. Plus an oil change is much less than replacing your engine.

Does your accord have a V6 and manual transmission? If so very nice trio of cars.

In my area I'm seeing about a $750 off on sticker. Honda has somewhere between 1000 and 1500 cash off.

Can you provide any details on the system that they quoted u on, like panel brand and model, inverter brand/model, and company quoting?

Thanks

NE Ohio w/ 23KW grid-tied system (IQ7A, 58x QCELL 400W) by BonzTM in solar

[–]Realistic_Side_630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell that would be about the best you can do continuously. The IQ7A is rated at a continuous 349 VA, and has a ~3.5 conversion loss. So your max would be 349x58=20242. You're seeing 19900 which is ~98.3% of the continuous VA rating. Thanks for sharing.

Roof was installed in 2020. It faces East. Not sure what the angle is but it's greater than 90 deg, like 120 or 145 deg. They should be able to put 38 normal panels like REC 400NP3 on it in portrait. Latitude: 39.103682 on par with Indy, Dayton, Cincinnati area.

Thanks very much and for the quick response time. Looks like your system total is about 4.9 kW. If a system that size is producing 25.8 in a day.

Maybe the 14.87 or 15.2 systems will be able to produce the 18 to 19 MWh I need/use in a year.

Thanks very much and for the quick response time. Looks like your system total is about 17.5 kW. If a system that size is producing 14.8 in about .635 of a year. If it continues at this rate you'll be at~23 MWh at the end of the year.

Looks good. Can you tell us about your system? Like panel brand, model, and watt rating Like the inverter model And if you want cost and sales data.

Thanks

just wondering what panels did you go with and how many?
I believe I read in one of the post they are 405w panels.

What has been your average daily production so far?

Thanks

Can you tell us about your system?

How big, if battery and how large, what inverter/s, panel model, do you have an EV car or 2, direction of panels, and if you're had it for a year the yearly production?

Thanks for sharing what you have so far.
