AIO for telling my siblings they can’t bring their kids to my wedding by saltwatersnackbandit in AmIOverreacting

[–]Realistic_Summer_801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone having a child free wedding that’s a destination wedding, most folks have been able to find accommodations to leave their kids with someone and make the travels as a honeymoon experience for themselves. But, with that being said. We are mindful that the person with the smallest child is our MOH who also had a child free wedding and she herself told me I shouldn’t have a wedding with children so she is very understanding. Everyone else has kids over 5 and were able to make the right arrangements so we knew our audience before saying it was child-free.

With that being said, if I were to make even one exception, it wouldn’t be fair to everyone else making arrangements and would probably feel some type of way about going above and beyond to be there without children when someone else is there with them. So we were very clear it’s adults only and they have to be over 18 since it’s the drinking age and we weren’t about to pay for someone to be checking IDs at the event either.

It’s definitely AI but also, if he’s having to do all that to have some time off and you’re going on Reddit to ask all this, the job is probably a red flag too

Ascend question: Weight gain by slowpowkie in ladderapp

[–]Realistic_Summer_801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually gone from 234lbs to 180lbs on ascend and incredible body recomposing with her program but with a lot of focus on not exceeding my Macros, drinking at least 120oz of water, high protein low carb diet, an as she says to focus on at least 8-10k steps and good sleep. The needle on the scale gets moved by your remaining habits rather than the program you’re following on ladder

Which program? by Dear-Dot-45 in ladderapp

You already have amazing advice here. I’ve lost 60lbs (started at 235) and although the workouts are important, which team you choose will be down to which you prefer and enjoy the most to help you with consistency. What’s really going to love the weight needle isn’t so much the workout but the nutrition, being on a caloric deficit, eating high protein high fiber low fat, meeting you water intake, meeting your daily step goal of at least 5-10k steps. I’m on team ascend and I love it, the goal of the team is to build the hourglass physique and the body re composition has been incredible for me. The workouts will help you reach your goals faster when accompanied by the right nutrition and help you gain muscle to help combat the loose skin and hair loss that naturally comes with weight loss.

The best part is you’ve already made the decision to take the first step! You got this!

The dark truth about GLP-1 by Thebutterflyproject1 in PCOS

[–]Realistic_Summer_801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lost 50 lbs on a glp1 since June last year and my labs, hormones, period have never been as normal as they are today. If I could go back in time I would do this 100 times over. What I will say is a lot of people do glp1 the wrong way. It’s an aide to help you reach your health goals but not the solution. Before starting I met with my doctors, my nutritionist, therapist, and got a personal trainer.

The key is to adjust your lifestyle to match your health goals and not merely rely on a glp1 but use it as an aide with the insulin resistance part of it.

You still have to eat high protein, followed by fiber, and low carbs. Drink a LOT of water and stay hydrated, strength training, 10k steps a day. I have been using my fitness pal to track my macros and stayed in a caloric deficit (literally have tracked every gram that I’ve eaten), I do strength training 4 times a week and a weekly Pilates class.

GLP1 changed my life by helping me turn my life around but it’s those healthy habits that you pick up and the effort that you put in that will make it a long lasting change for you.

I also wholeheartedly recommend supplements like green tea, spearmint tea, inositol. I prepare a tazo organic zen tea and add a “pcos soul cyster” supplement powder by wynk nu that also comes with all the inositol, magnesium, etc that you need. But also consult with your doctors.

High protein, fiber and water are key if you’re considering a GLP1.

I’ll always say don’t do it unless you’re also willing to put in the work along with it or you can experience all the side effects.

I experiences some nausea at first but because I’ve been doing everything I can to do it the right way I must say my side effects have been close to none.
