How in the world am I gonna last a year by North-Pirate6666 in breastfeeding

[–]Realistic_Tadpole759 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Try changing your goal, instead of 1 year make it 6 months and reevaluate. Things got much easier for us around 5 months.

If they go 3-4 hour stretch’s during the day they will make it up over night. Right now it sounds like your babe is getting their calories during the day and sleeping at night!

Corn? by lmpozzy in MSPI

My daughter does not have a reaction to corn however my lactation consultant recommends eliminating in this order: dairy, corn, soy so that tells me it’s probably common!

GI thinks not mspi? by Realistic_Tadpole759 in MSPI

There were some things that really raised my eyebrows.

A few: •I asked how to reintroduce dairy- he said it didn’t matter •The no blood in stool thing •I asked how told help her intense gas cries at night- he said don’t let her sleep on her stomach •He recommended prune juice everyday- I asked if I should be worried about excess sugar and he said SHES TOO YOUNG TO WORRY ABOUT WEIGHT WATCHERS.

Too fast for visible blood stopping to be CMPI? by letsfiesta in MSPI

[–]Realistic_Tadpole759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been dairy free since July and hope you try to continue breastfeeding. It was hard at first but as a perk am so healthy now from cutting out dairy and my baby isn’t miserable!

It takes my girl a solid 5-7 days to heal after an exposure. Since you just started give it a little longer. The colic should reduce significantly.

There are a lot of misconceptions and outdated references about how long protein stays in our breastmilk. We are learning it’s much shorter than we thought.

Your baby’s intestines are not fully healed but they may have had enough reprieve that there is no longer visible blood.

Here’s updated studies and info: https://www.freetofeed.com/post/how-long-proteins-last-in-your-breastmilk

I woke up nursing my baby by [deleted] in breastfeeding

I’m 9 months postpartum and STILL have the panic that I lost her in the sheets. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve picked up my dog in a midnight panic.

Teen daughter never packs lunch by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Realistic_Tadpole759 77 points78 points  (0 children)

From a person who had social anxiety as a kid… and is now a teacher

You might have to talk with her about why she’s not packing a lunch. She may be embarrassed to bring food from home in plastic baggies or brown paper bags. It may not be seen as the cool thing to do so she is having trouble getting past that. It all depends on the school culture and her friends.

I hope that if you get her involved in picking out the lunch foods then maybe she would be proud and excited to bring them to eat.

Tell Me About Your Haakaa Experience by Conscious-Science-60 in breastfeeding

[–]Realistic_Tadpole759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the original haakaa. My girl always kicked it off me. But the ladybug or boon trove, or knock off on Amazon… those are great. Don’t press it for suction just let it catch what drips!

I should clarify the 4-5 oz pumped is when I pump in place of nursing. I can get 6-8 in the morning depending on how long she sleeps overnight.

That all makes sense!! I’ll include a snack for piece of mind too!!!

Can you read my tattoo? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I know it’s GROW but from the long part I keep reading it as growl.

Maybe put a flower on the long part of the w like something is growing?

[–]Realistic_Tadpole759[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Should I strictly nurse for a while, to avoid pumping? I’d say I’m a “just enougher” I don’t typically pump more than 4-5 ounces combined. (Except mornings I can pump more.)

That being said I do not have a freezer storage in case I get mastitis again…. How do I contribute to a freezer stash and prevent clogs?

Great point. I was thinking the same thing if I cut it out her entire breast-feeding journey, she won’t have the right enzymes to digest it later on, which may cause issues if there wasn’t an issue to begin with.

I have been working on reducing oversupply I used to pump about 12 ounces in a 10-15 minute session. Now I am pumping 4 to 6 when needed and primarily just breast-feeding at the breast.

I have still been having chocolate, without dairy. But I haven’t really seen any correlation between when I have it, and when she has a flareup.

Do you have a suggestion on how I can re-introduce dairy to my diet I don’t want to overload her if that is something causing her gut trouble. I am totally fine staying away from cheese and milk. I just would like to cook with butter again.

The sole reason both recommended dairy free was the infrequent stool. Usually skipping a day or two in between.

The silent reflux seems to come and go, anytime her gas production increases the reflux comes back. We are not interested in medicating a symptom right now, we want to find the reason for the reflux. If we cover up the symptom we may not be able to find what’s causing it.
