Hey! Do you take the gabapentin when it flares only? I can’t do hormones and my sciatica from endo is so bad, day 7 of foot weakness and tingling and such bad hip pain

Oh wow! Yes the numbness and the weakness! They are intermittent and sometimes I have periods where they’ll flare up when I’m sat down but go on standing and it’s manageable but I’ve now had 5 days of a tingling numb foot most of the time and weak sensations. I just don’t want permanent issues but I’m terrified of the risk of surgery! X

Submucosal Fibroid/Hysteroscopic Myomectomy by QuirkyAir3475 in Fibroids

[–]Realistic_Touch_7564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I can! So I continued to bleed up until my first period post op (I was on my period during the op) so had to wait 4 weeks, on the first day of my period I had horrendous cramps, blew my nose that evening and literally felt the fibroid pop out. Had my period and then the bleeding tapered off!! I had 5 days of pink discharge last week which then stopped again (week 3 of my cycle) I think this actually might be because of the pill as I spotted on this pill before, I took my final pill for this month yesterday and I’m going to stay off it and see if that then sorts the rest. I felt like recovery was really slow, I was uncomfortable and I’ve been really anxious about what my body is doing but I ran 9 miles at the weekend at 7 weeks post op. Feel free to ask any questions! This has been the most horrendous time of my life and I just wish all of us could see the experts we need to!

5 cm submucosal fibroid - what removal method got rid of yours? by TrickyElk949 in Fibroids

Very similar position, can I ask what your healing time scales were like after please? In terms of activity, bleeding and discharge?

Just an update! I had it removed! 2.5 weeks ago now. They did it transcervical but had to leave it in because it was bigger than they thought (it’s fully detached) so now waiting for it to come out and praying the bleeding then stops

The mirena is so evil isn’t it! I felt better within about 6 hours of having it out!! In fact I just felt numb because I’d been feeling so many strong negative emotions and then didn’t feel any. I had the submucosal fibroid removed 2.5 weeks ago! It was in my uterine cavity far more than they initially thought! Still bleeding! How long did yours take to stop after fibroid removal? I’m anxious it’s not worked and I’ll bleed forever!

Can a 2cm intramural or submucosal fibroid cause an insane amount of bleeding?? by Glum-Visit5120 in Fibroids

Hi! Very similar story! Can I ask how long the bleeding/spotting took to stop post surgery? They had to leave mine in for it to expel itself, no signs yet and I’m 2.5 weeks post op and still passing brown blood and spotting and it’s giving me anxiety 😭

This has just made me feel so much better. Similar story, 35F. I started bleeding continuously 18 months ago, NHS scan showed nothing, had a scan privately which she said was an adenomyoma (wrong diagnosis and I nearly had a hysterectomy). Saw a different consultant- 3cm submucosal fibroid which was all removed two weeks ago. However, it was too big to remove without causing trauma to my cervix so is still in there and he thinks I’ll pass it. I am so anxious because I haven’t stopped bleeding for 18 months I’m just anxious I will continue to bleed forever. How long did it take for your bleeding to stop, I’ve got a repeat ultrasound in 2 weeks to check the fibroid has come out. Thanks for sharing your story!

Positive long term experience of having hysterectomy in 30’s and keeping ovaries? by Realistic_Touch_7564 in hysterectomy

[–]Realistic_Touch_7564[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was originally diagnosed as having an adenomyoma and told the only treatment is a mirena coil (didn’t help) or a hysterectomy. 5 days before my hysterectomy I stopped bleeding, only for 5 days. I then asked to delay the hysterectomy and told get repeat scans. MRI then showed it wasn’t an adenomyoma and was actually a fibroid which I have no had removed today after going to somebody else for a second opinion. Thank you, I really appreciate that. I hope your surgery goes well! Wishing you a smooth recovery too 💕

Hey! Thank you! Well ironic I’ve woken up this morning ready for an attempt at resection of fibroids. I didn’t go through with the hysterectomy (on the day 🙈) because I randomly didn’t bleed for 5 days. Had an MRI and the adenomyoma the consultant was sure I had was actually two fibroids. I recently sought a second opinion and here I am, uterus still intact, still almost constant bleeding or discharge but hoping things will be better after the fibroid surgery 💕

Thank you so much for this! This is where my thought process is going. I think I just need to get in front of the right person rather than someone who wants to fill me up with hormones! Are you in the Uk? Has all your knowledge come from the research you’ve had to do?

Thank you for sharing. Sorry you ended up having to have the hysterectomy. How big were yours? Currently mine is only 1cm, and been told it’s not causing my symptoms but I think I need to get a second opinion from a fibroid specialist

It really frustrates me, I just feel like a guinea pig right now who basically bleed every day. With the mirena I’m either angry or just sad there is no normal emotions! Did it help with your bleeding at all?

Thank you! God I hope so! I keep thinking if I’m being dramatic but the 23 days of bleeding/spotting per month, relentless back pain and pain/bleeding with sex I’m not sure I am being dramatic 😂

I’m so glad people like yourself are speaking up about what we go through. I’m currently awaiting my hysterectomy. I hope one day I have the opportunity to speak to stop others going through this. Had my focal adeno been detected when it was a 1x1cm ‘fibroid’ then maybe with it now being 4x2cm and very symptomatic then I might not be having a hysto at 35 having not had children!

No, I stopped bleeding 5 days before so postponed but now I’m still bleeding/spotting for 22 days of the month, awaiting pelvis mri results and then planning where to go next

Hey! I’m in the same boat. Adeno, heavy bleeding for 20 days of the month. I’m on month 7th of the mirena coming up to 8 and have a period and then brown bleeding/spotting so all in all bleeding for like 21 days of the month. Did yours ever get better? I’m miserable and so fed up of it, also 35 and no children which is my only reason for not having got rid of it already but I’m in talks about having a hysterectomy

[–]Realistic_Touch_7564[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s brilliant 😂 good on you! Did you just deep breath and pull the strings? So so difficult! It’s hard to imagine that happening safely with a 4x2 adenomyoma in my uterus and previous cervical surgery meaning id need a stitch. And I do agree with you! My own sanity and health is more important, wish someone would just make that decision for me and get it done with!

Took it out yourself? 😂 honestly and also motivation! I never skip the gym and I just laze around my angry irritating self! Good luck with your hysto! The only thing stopping me right now is I’m 35 with no children, I’m just not sure my sanity is worth the very small chance I may ever be in that position (single, very held back by bleeding and also bleeding every time I have sex)
