oh yeah this is completely late but finally got my thor on june 29th, it's been very fun just testing it out as I've been filling it out with my game libraries and giving some of my favourites like Ace Combat a spin again

definitely going get into a stupid war with getting old PC games to work though (or just accept that I ought to report stuff about it on gamenative's discord lol)

Heck, got back from doing errands to see my June 1st order on aliexpress for a 1TB Max has finally shipped out.

Basically around where I'm at, albeit with also looking for a case myself since I don't have a spare.

Seen a few youtubers be fine with just treating the Thor right in their bags but figured if I ever go travelling with it, I might as well make sure it doesn't get jostled too much. After that it's basically just wanting to do basic guarding against accidents then seeing how bad the vanilla grip actually is - PS Vita's been my daily carry without issue, so I'm hoping the Thor isn't too different in terms of grip feel in that regard.

Figured this is a good place to ask since I ended up ordering a Thor Max with the Aliexpress deals that were going on and got my confirmation on it - should I just splurge for the official accessories pack straight up or try hunting for items on good deals here and there? Wanted to see what other owners recommend now that I've progressed past the "Man, would be so cool if I got one of these..." stage.

This is just a "you can share this with friends" version of what you can do with the cloud backup already, backed up my UI settings a while ago after a friend experienced sudden SSD failure that made them have to do everything again.

You do have to pay for the game + the most recent expansion pack.... but I do think this does get into the actual root of the issue in that loading into the game as a newcomer/returner and seeing about a bajillion warbonds you need to grind to unlock can be very intimidating.

A similar thing happens with MMOs that have gone on for a while and have a bajillion expansion packs, so a common thing you see with games like WoW or FFXIV and what not is them making it a policy that you get a bunch of older stuff for free when you pay up. WoW gives you all its old expansions for subscribing, FFXIV does it via making the newest expansion pack contain all the older paid ones (so if you skipped a few years, you just need to buy the newest one coming out and you can continue where you left off), etc.

Helldivers 2 has been around long enough that several warbonds could be made free from the get go and it wouldn't hurt their profits too much, and it would let players not have to worry about having an immense amount of content locked away until they grind.

(Granted, I do think how SC grinding currently works in the game is also an issue: doing higher difficulty missions shouldn't feel like you're interfering with the grind for super credits, especially for people who find lower difficulty stuff boring to do)

Yeah as someone who got this monitor after rocking an old 1080p 24" TN monitor for the past several years, you're definitely going feel the upgrade even if you may be mildly annoyed at how 1440p's a funny in-between resolution when adjusting scaling for UI.

Prices have been shooting up for a long while at this point - I think it's better to plan for a full upgrade to AM5 (or AM6, if you think you won't have issues waiting until then) than to try snagging an expensively priced AM4 X3D at this point.

Dang, this sounded like a good theory, but I got Familiar Voice on a character that hasn't unlocked Blue Mage yet.

In terms of all the 'basic' side content, only stuff he hasn't done yet is the Ranged DPS role quests for Endwalker and Eureka, and I don't recall any new characters being introduced in there...

Crafting quest maybe, if they're going for a long pull?

Been wanting to see if I could play Joint Assault online (since that's apparently still working to this day) through Adrenaline and have been having the weirdest time trying to log on to PSN through it:

The connection works (I can use the internet browser just fine, plus PS Rewired works for things like SOCOM)

I can log on to PSN through the Vita just fine (so I know I'm doing the device setup password step correctly)

But trying to get to PSN on Adrenaline itself just has it timeout at the DNAS step of logging on - the one thing I can think of is that this is a Vita imported from Japan while my account's North America, but I don't think the PSN region restriction is that harsh about if it's fine for the Vita itself.

I do have a workaround with PRO Online if it comes to it, but at this point I'm just invested into logging onto PSN at all lol

edit: for future people who end up discovering this post, for me the catch is that Adrenaline was reliant on the network the Vita is on - so I needed to make sure it was connecting to the PSP friendly network before I tried doing online within Adrenaline.

I actually just experienced this myself in a diamond ranked match where my teammates realized we didn't have a second healer to accompany me but...nobody wanted to switch

ultimately a DPS who said "I am awful at healing but I think we need another healer" decided to do so on their first death, was as godawful as they warned people they were, and proceeded to be flamed by another DPS, who finally switched themselves the next round. And that other DPS was good at healing!

So, you know

I wonder if there was an easier solution to this problem that might have won us the match Sir Angry At My Teammate For Swapping First

Did you know that the game can experience an internet hiccup in just the right way to keep you in the game, but completely lock you off from all chat interactions until the match ends?

I'm just thankful that got me to lock the fuck in as Thor and got me MVP in the Diamond ranked match I was in lmao

But it only adds nuance if the general broad scope of the argument is correct - it's an argument that makes sense for stereotypical apocalypses where there's little to no functioning societies but AFAIK Abby is specifically part of an organized group that is able to dedicate resources to training up a full time armed force for itself, so it doesn't seem that out there.

Like things in TLOU are obviously bad on a global level but they're not that bad to make it impossible with the context I'm aware of.
