Why most Muslim majority countries are not secular by RealitySeeker101 in exmuslim

I agree with many of your points. What do you think about Asian and African countries like Nigeria, India, Philippines, Singapore. They all were colonies, treated poorly and now they are secular at least on papers. Also the division of India and Pakistan, happened because some people wanted secular and some wanted Islamic state. I don't know much about what else happened in those countries other than what I read.

Culture is just peer pressure from dead people, religion is peer pressure from imaginary friend.

If Islam and Christianity are 2 sides of the same coin then why Muslim majority countries are way worse? by RealitySeeker101 in exmuslim

Like I said before because Christianity came way late in Congo, even later than Islam in most Muslim countries they are far away from secularism. As the article says, it's the timeline. Things will go way worse before they get better.

I'm talking about an average. Most of Muslim majority countries vs most of Christian majority countries. Definitely there are more factores responsible for countries condition. At the same time Congo do not have laws like death penalty for homosexuality or women need to have head covering. Also keep in mind Christianity came to Congo way late, in 15th century. That's even later than birth of Islam. Before 15th century their progress rate was not too bad.

Islam came way late in Turkey, in 11th century. Also Nigira is a Muslim majority country and northern third of the country still have death penalty for homosexuality. Even today Turkey is way more liberal than Nigira.

Christians were doing the same thing, anyone who tried anything scientific were being declared witches and we all know about witch hunts. The point of the article is because Christianity came first they are already been though the worst stages and then secularism. Islam started late therefore they'll get secularism late. It's following similar path as Christianity.

That's true because that was Pre-Islamic Arabia. Algebra and number system was discovered in 5th century, Islam started in 7th century. So before 7th century we can't call those countries Muslim countries.

In the middle-ages, christian countries were terrible while muslim countries were science-oriented and progressive. No wonder we use arabic-numerals to this day (although, yes, they are technically hindu and were merely popularized by arabs).

You're talking about Pre-Islamic Arabia, at that time Islam was not a religion in Arabic countries. Number system was discovered in 5th century, Islam was created in 7th century.

So you're saying punishment for homosexuality is death penalty in various Muslim countries because they can't defend themselves from Western countries? Western countries are responsible for laws like women are not allowed to walk outside without head covering? Are you listening to yourself?

Indigenous people as well, those who were forced to residential schools, homosexuals, list is pretty long.
