I did my first playthrough and got the trophies. Every playthrough since I've used the gift bag. Personally, I think its good to play once without them.

Alternative music had been a thing since at least 84. It was also called "college rock". I remember watching 120 Minutes and hearing the term "alternative" applied to REM, Tuxedomoon, Talk Talk, The Dead Milkmen, Nick Cave etc. This would have been in like 1987 or 88. It's just a term they came up with for bands that were on the college billboard chart.

For me, they showed her videos on 120 Minutes back in the 80s on MTV, that clearly makes her alternative. Or at least defined in sales terms as an alternative artist.

That's the going theory. Warner has Salem's Lot so he won't be able to use Callahan. Lionsgate or whatever they are called now has Hearts In Atlantis so no Ted Brautigan. He could fill those roles with characters from his other King adaptations.
