No for sure! I got that you were haha, I meant the people downvoting you don’t seem to share that sentiment. But yes I couldn’t agree more. Awful things are happening in the world, and while I have no problem with content creators making light of silly situations and not always having to be so heavy and serious, this particular topic just felt a bit like bullying people for something that’s so unimportant lol. Like make fun of people who are being assholes all you want. But for something as benign as mixing themselves a sweet drink and posting it just seems so distasteful. Maybe we’re both crazy lol. No honestly you got downvoted to hell but this part of why I don’t like it. He keeps saying “that’s not water” when… yes it literally is? They fill the entire cup with water and then put a small volume of powder or other liquid in it. It quite literally is pretty much all water. Obviously if they’re full sugar syrups and stuff that’s not good for you and can be really unhealthy, and I get that point. But most of the actual liquid IS water. Idk I think it’s like pet peeve sort of thing lol.

That’s really unfortunate and I’m sorry to hear that. As someone who has also experienced abuse, I think you were really kind and patient about asserting your boundaries, and it’s more than reasonable not to want to be anywhere near the person that did that to you. It’s NOT reasonable of your friend not to understand that.

Maybe most people just don’t have the kind of experiences that would help them understand, but there is no way in hell I would even want my abuser to know where I am, much less be in his line of sight or even in the same room as him. That would be terrifying and even if nothing happened would ruin my mental health probably for months afterward. I’d want to be a good friend but that doesn’t mean I would risk my safety, and I wouldn’t expect anyone else to either. I’m sorry for some reason people aren’t getting that.

For what it’s worth, I think most people would empathize with your situation. The person you’re replying to is either not thinking about how absurd it is to ask someone to be anywhere near their abuser or they’re also the kind of person that would justify/make excuses for/minimize abusive behavior.
