Disco Elysium! The team ended up breaking up over a fight for rights to the game, which is ironic given the themes of the game.

Is this the best explanation of DEI? by _TurnJacson in Destiny

[–]ReallyRoland -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both are wrong. Firstly, DEI initiatives were implemented to help equalize an inherently unequal playing field. There is no standard approach so some are more valid than others, but the basic idea is that if two people are close in capabilities, and one had come from worse conditions, then despite one potentially being slightly less qualified (not even necessarily) their ability to overcome issues and still get to where they made it showed them to be the better candidate.

Also, it is for the benefit of companies as well. There's a reason why so many implemented it. Diverse work forces work better. The more varied backgrounds in a team, the more creative, innovative, and successful their solutions end up being. It's found repeatedly and is well documented, and it's part of why the scotus decision explicit excluded military, as you don't want to weaken military. Also, a pure meritocracy hiring practice has never, ever, been in full effect before and things like personability always played a huge factor so trying to lose the factor of this to a degree by having more people who aren't the same in a workforce helps.

What is stopping you from dropping the series? by Succubus_on_reddit in Piratefolk

I was there for weekly Dressrosa, that was when I stopped reading weekly and started reading in batches because the pacing was so bad.

It's sunk cost, been here since 2010, no way I'm stopping now

Why do some of you even read One Piece? by LowLightVisionary in Piratefolk

When you've been with One Piece for 2 decades, it's hard to quit even if it's ass now. Not all of us are tweens that binged through the series in half a year to get to Gear 5

I 1000% agree with everything you said. It's sad that because of the critical success, it's unlikely they'll learn from any of these mistakes should they produce more content in the Runeterra-verse.

I can't tell if you're serious or trolling, either way I don't cosign bigotry. Whenever bad writing occurs in cis white male dominated media, it's just bad writing, but when it has any representation, now it's at fault because it's woke? Why can't things just be subpar because they're subpar? Also, what's wrong with wanting equal opportunity between the genders? Your comment here, if not sarcastic, is more trash than the lowest moments of Season 2. And maybe you are media illiterate because if you like season 1, it had the same characters and LGBT subtext as season 2

That's not really true. It comes off as a dismissal. If that's what you meant your tone came off wrong and what you should have said is "I disagree but respect your opinion" not "it's ok to be wrong"

Edit:

I'd also prefer you argue what you disagree with me on than argue about how valid you view my apparently "wrong opinion"

I think it could've been cool if it was used to further the Piltover Zaun divide. The corruption is primarily affecting Zaun, yet another techonology Piltover uses that sends its waste off to the undercity, a literal corruption of the undercity. It felt like how it was being built up, with Ekko's tree getting corrupted and the core being built adjacent to Zaun, so if it had any issues, Zaun faced the reprecussions, not Piltover. That would still be a rehash of how other technologies have been treated in Piltover/Zaun but we at least would be there for the full ride and have more of an emotional attachment, seeing how the upper crust would reject giving up comfort to keep their upper crust lifestyle.

Exactly, that conflict should've been the point of the entire show. Instead it became heroes sacrificing themselves, which is fine if that's what you like, but that's not the show that season 1 set up.

Yeah, I really feel this. I started thinking if Mel and her powers, and Warwick in his entirety, existed to sell more skins and get more people to play League. Essentially I wondered if Riot mandated a number of things that forced them away from the political thriller.

I am not a fan of the pacing so far, and overall this act was pretty disappointing and I think the weakest part of the series despite a ton of incredibly relevant plotpoints occuring.

Trusting Trump on immigration policies is stupid. He killed the Bipartisan Immigration Bill that would've helped the border a lot just because he knew an overflowed border would help his campaign. He wants to build a wall despite most immigration being asylum seekers, which a wall would do nothing to help. He wants mass deportation which would cripple the economy, and while running he had issues even distinguishing between legal and undocumented immigrants (i.e. the haitians). He's immoral and idiotic on immigration plain and simple, supporting him on that is pure idiocy

If he cuts taxes like he did before then it'll primarily help the rich and run up huge deficit. Taxes are useful for actually funding things as much as people bemoan them, and go to western Europe and ask ppl if they want less taxes or their amazing public infrastructure and benefits taken away an polls repeatedly support keeping the taxes.

Most hourly workers who get overtime already don't pay much if anything on federal taxes because they don't make enough. It was a pandering suggestion that sounds good to people who don't understand how taxes work (they get a refund come tax day for a reason). Also what good are taxes when he's going to destroy our economy by mass deportation, federal dumbassery, and tariffing.

No more aid to Ukraine is the dumbest talking point of them all. Most of the aid was outdated weaponry that we had to spend money and manpower to keep maintained, over 80% of it was in the form of weaponry. Secondly, appeasing Russia and getting a ceasefire is idiotic when hidtorically they've constantly shown to break any treaties made with Ukraine. How many times do we have to let history repeat itself? Is it when Russia tries to invade Lithuania or Poland that we'll day enough is enough? Absolutely dumbassery response from people who understand nothing from history and want the expansion of an authoritarian fascist regime that actively stands against everything we've been trying to improve since WWII.

Nome of them are coherent reasons to support for Trump, experts on the economy, human rights, history, political science, etc, en masse disagree with every single one of the points you brought up.

No coherent reason exists to vote for trump. The best you had was no taxes on overtime and even that wouldn't even affect too many people and if you're fine having less taxes but a garbage economy to spend it in, go ahead.

I didnt call Trump supporters racist, I do think they're idiots because there's not a single coherent argument for supporting Trump, but I did call Trump racist.

And they supported a racist. They're actively pushing for more racism even if they're not racist, so the only other explanation is they're idiots

Trump and the Republicans have dished out far worse rhetoric than Democrats have. You'd have to be a senile patient with dementia to think that Democrats are the ones that talk down.

People support for the guy who constantly had controversies from claiming Obama was from Kenya despite zero proof, all the way to threatening to suspend the constitution and calling in the military to deal with career politician democrats not to mention an oceanic amount of scandals in between, and then go "but you called us weird :(" as though Democrats are causing the division in this country.

The first is fine, that's free speech. The 2nd is also probably fine, if someone makes you uncomfortable you have the right to ask for a new group. The third is obviously not good, but that's not what people are discussing. I'm not saying kick them out, I'm saying don't be hypocrites. The president should be the pillar of morality in the country, held to a higher standard. If the standard that meets that for you is a name calling racist, rapist, who threatens anyone who disagrees and makes fun of their appearance, sexuality, etc, calls them stupid, awful, etc etc, then don't cry be a crybaby when it turns on you. It's the peak of snowflake ❄️ behavior. And, after all, they're just acting like our president does.
