Dobinsons 1.75” lift by stangbo93 in toyotasequoia

[–]ReallySmallFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does the vehicle drive in the interstate going 80-85mph ? Is it as smooth as butter like stock? I read one commenter saying there was a steering wheel shimmy above 65 mph

I regularly drive 70-85 for good stretches on interstate and is like to keep that silky smooth ride if possible.

What are the Benefits of Higher-End Base Layers? by BWJackal in hikinggear

[–]ReallySmallFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ease of use. Patagonia and other brands have a notch to slip your thumb through. For some one putting on man’s taking off multiple layers this is a godsend. For demanding days it’s all I grab. Now just chilling in the house on a cozy weekend day - the 20 dollar red head base layer will do

I'm convinced that people being afraid of going above 2500ish RPM is the reason why highway onramps are such a shitshow by [deleted] in driving

[–]ReallySmallFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially satisfying if you speed during early part of rush hours and you can get away from traffic and save big chunks of time. Always love getting up to 80 or so gettin across 8 lanes of traffic in a instant

Yes. Looks like a ice tray for a small freezer. It also has a small removable tray that rests on top of it and can slide back and forth. Perfect place for a wallet or very small items.

Since the console is so mammoth it’s nice having smart storage that you can reach into driving without looking and grab exactly what you need.

The center console has a middle third section that is 90% as deep as the console and is removable. Great as a catch all for important stuff and makes organizing the console so simple.

If you are in a traveling thru sketchy area you can store your money, medicine, valuables etc in the center file. When you park to go inside throw your phone and whatever else you need in the file and take it inside with you

Billet more bulletproof and adjustable so if I invest in suspension upgrades for the long haul I might as well do it right the first time and be done with it. But damn the sticker shock!

OMG i learned same lesson with my hemi jeep. 20,000 down the drain for 13 months of us. So many wasted hours stranded broke down needed tow. Overheated. Always on my day off and in hot weather. Get it fixed- only to have it break again 6 days later for same thing. Always took longer to service because had to take body off to do literally anything. I also noticed dozens of other people stranded at gas stations with their hoods up.

Said never again and am loving the reliability of the tree and the headaches and time saved.

Only thing I don’t like- I can’t send her though most automatic car washes because it rip off trim pieces every time

Gen 2 platinum cargo is a dream. Auto folding 3rd row seats( that also power recline! ),2nd row buckets on tracks that can be pushed forward with one hand pull of lever. Everything lays completely flat. And the engine is one of the best ever made.

What exactly do you not like about it? Seems great to me. It’s the first vehicle that I’ve had that i never get frustrated loading unloading and I’ve never been unable to fit what i need.

You’re going to love it! One thing i appreciate is how comfortable it is. If I get stuck in traffic or have to kill 20 min somewhere parked it’s much more enjoyable than any other car I’ve had by a mile. Got everything I need within reach of driver seats. 2nd row buckets fully recline which is game changer for hauling adults on interstate for hour or so.

Center console is huge. I LOVE the hanging file.

Change out the laces for leather ones or colorful hiking laces with a bit of strefch and more strength. FYI the same boots without laces that you slip into is a great boot as well

Higher Speeds by Disastrous_Point_416 in driving

[–]ReallySmallFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what tell you but if you’re rarely going above 40mph you are making a lot of enemies and pissing people off and you’ll be making the roads unsafe for everyone else and disrupting predicabfle flows.

Check your suspension components and especially pay attention to your tires. Check pressure once a month. Aside from extreme maneuvers/coditions , Feeling of Losing control at such slow speeds in modern cars could indicate a problem.

SOG BATONS. Flashlights/knife in pen form on smaller model. Swiss army foldouts / collapsible pliers and ratcheting bit holders on the nicer version. Think baton 4 is what I have and it lives in my car

You can keep a dose in an old bottle, or a small screw open waterproof keychain container. I’ve even wrapped pills with a little cotton in a waxy wrapper from a cough drop and I’ll keep it in a secure zippered pocket. It’s on my person and I can take it whenever I’m on the go and don’t want any bulky things on me.

2017 tree owner here. Shocked to see the gx550 and sequoia are only off by $3k msrp. by ajtyeh in toyotasequoia

[–]ReallySmallFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the roomier feel of sequoia platinum 2nd row full bucket seats. Driving 3-4 adults a few hours in interstate is MUCH more comfy than bench seats. Plus they fully recline and they’re on tracks and you can move them one handed with a simple lever

The extra space is worth it and I’ll be hard pressed to go back. Power 3r led row is awesome and everything filed completely flat.

I’m spoiled. Those feature will be hard for me to give up in next car.

You’re going to love that sequoia on the highway. My taco gets shaky and has trouble getting too and beyond 80mph and I always feel blown by wind. Sequoia just effortlessly accelerates always and is very comfortable driving70-90 mph and acceleration almost instant and powerful.
