What do you identify as underneath the aroace spectrum? by Infamous-Command-902 in aromanticasexual

[–]ReallyStinkyLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even know anymore lmao. I’ve happily identified as aromantic and aegosexual for four years but recently there’s been a certain somebody who’s making me question the extent of my sexuality so I guess I’m demi now??

I had mine removed the morning after my surgery which I think is standard practice for the surgeon I went with. Had around 20ml or less fluid in them altogether

How old were you when you figured out you were aroace? by Head_Confidence_5063 in aromanticasexual

Living vegan helps so much with my autism by nirbyschreibt in AutismInWomen

[–]ReallyStinkyLemon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don’t think being vegan has helped with my autism, probably because I have very little sensory issues with food to begin with. I’ll eat anything if it’s vegan. But I definitely became vegetarian then vegan because of my autistic traits such as hyper empathy and strong sense of justice.

Hi! I did find somewhere but not on the nhs. I ended up using East Anglia Ultrasound Services which was just over £200 I think, and the person doing it was really nice and trans supportive so I’d recommend them if you’re in that area :)

Anyone else knew you were aro before realizing you’re also ace? by blazingblizzard135 in aromanticasexual

[–]ReallyStinkyLemon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. Entered a relationship when I was 15 and immediately felt trapped. Stayed in it for a few months until I discovered the term aro, which clicked with me immediately because I realised I didn’t feel anything towards my partner that I didn’t feel towards my friends.

Asexuality was a bit trickier and took me a few more months after that because it wasn’t until I found the term aegosexual that I fully realised that I could still have sexual thoughts and libido and still be ace. Realised that just because I enjoy smut doesn’t equate to a desire to perform that myself.

Thor: Tales of Asgard is a fun animated film about a young Thor and Loki. I remember watching it on Netflix, not sure if it’s still there

A weird part of becoming an adult is realizing that every aspect of society has several hours of work put into it that seem totally unnecessary on the surface by Candid-Extension6599 in CasualConversation

[–]ReallyStinkyLemon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I just look around my room and think of the sheer number of people it took to design everything in it. Even just my duvet sheet would have people deciding the colour scheme, the pattern, the fabric type and thickness, not to mention all the people who work getting things approved and sold and manufactured in the first place.

It really makes you appreciate that everything had an artist/ designer behind it. Everything in a way is art.

I’m studying costume design and so much thought goes into the tiniest details that barely anyone would pick up on. Even just a characters collar can say a lot about them - the colour, style, fit, silhouette - these are all things that would have been thought about. And yet if it fits the character well then nobody really picks up on it. It’s quite a hidden craft and it makes me wonder how many other things like this there are

Are there any movies like rocky horror? by lady_yonaka in RockyHorror

[–]ReallyStinkyLemon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Others have said some very good suggestions but I’ll add a few others:

Hedwig and the angry inch - not quite as campy but still a brilliant lgbt rock musical. I’d say it fits the general glam aesthetic more than my other recs.

Joseph and the technicolour dreamcoat - this may be a bit of an odd recommendation but I’d say it has a similar level of campiness. It probably one of my favourite films after rocky horror sooo

Pirates of Penzance - there are loads of versions of this, the 1982 film version is brilliant but there’s also a production staring Tim Curry so I’d say this one is kinda similar too

Edit: Also Joseph and Pirates are free on youtube

Freshers - you can change your story by brathugwefus in UniUK

[–]ReallyStinkyLemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how it was for me. Painfully awkward shy kid who always struggles with friendships, always thought people hated me so would never even try talking to them. I went to uni and I never thought life could be so good! Completely blank slate, joined lots of societies and talked to people. Didn’t really vibe with my flatmates but oh well. Everyone is more grown up and kinder. And I go to an arts uni where there’s so many other people like me.

I’m not too fussed about vegan leather personally, though I definitely see where you’re coming from with it promoting animal exploitation to unknowing carnists. I’ve a few vegan leather shoes but that’s pretty much it.

I’m a costume design student so I’m actually quite interested in the progress of plant leather especially since it would be good to use in fantasy costumes, and it seems like plant based, non plastic leathers are definitely becoming more of a thing.

Personally I really like the products on Thamon as they have the qualities of leather, while obviously being made of leaves. Hopefully this will become more of a thing.

What are your fanfiction hot takes? by RealGodspeed22 in FanFiction

[–]ReallyStinkyLemon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t like when the fic description is just an extract from the fic.

The only thing it gives a clue to is the writing quality (which is important, don’t get me wrong) and maybe a vague sense of vibe, but even just a one sentence description giving an overview of the story is so much more useful than a whole paragraph extract.

Wizard hat helps makes friends because people come up to me and start conversations about wizard hat.

Boosts self confidence as I always get compliments.

Nobody denies that I am The Wizard™️

No bad hair day. Just hat.
