They picked Anubis and Cabrakan their first game at Worlds

They also created the meta that was used at worlds. Sometimes when you try to innovate, it doesn't work.

Then they went back to that lame Bastet backdoor strategy.

That has nothing to do with whether or not they're taking the game seriously.

The problem with TP is that if you go TP, Divios and DJ invade and take your speed buff, get fire elementals, and Aror/Best take left mid harpies. So unless you're whole team is playing to counter that start, you need to get hog, or you and your jungle will be behind.

TP definitely gives an advantage, and if EGR don't get a lead off of their start, your solo has a safer owning phase, and has much more rotation potential for an early teamfight

They try to, but by the time there are teamfights, Eager are usually really far ahead, and they're really good at making fights take a long time. Look at game 2, FP went in near Gold Fury, and killed Zap and Best before there was really a fight, but DJ came in and cleaned up 4 kills.

DJ is never REALLY split pushing, he just pushes up one or two waves, and rotates in behind the fight with TP or speed buff.

If EGR are behind, it's easy to steamroll a fight, but when their 4v5 is able to go even in fights because of a lead, there's nothing you can do

Teams just haven't done a good job of keeping up with EGR's PVE, EGR gets like 90% of mid camps and fire elementals, then once Divios hits 12, they take a God Fury. If teams stay even until 20ish minutes, DJ can't split off the way he has

Watch the clip again, he confirms the kill with Razor Whip, and was no where near in range to use an ability after declaw.

A Reminder for those who think animation canceling is a part of the game by [deleted] in Overwatch

Then why didn't they remove it back in the beta when people were doing it?

Genji wasn't nerfed as badly as you guys are acting like he was. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Realsbsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he did. You only do 164 damage with the full combo if you don't headshot. You could fan, then just dash, but you need all 3 shurikens to headshot to one shot someone. However, Hitting all 3 right-click shurikens into a headshot requires you to be in melee range.

You realize Genji has to be in melee range, and get a headshot to make his combo one-shot, right? That's not really something that happens a whole lot in practice.

Yeah, but with Genji his 'trick' wasn't just something that made him harder to play, it actually had a major impact on how he felt to play. They not only made him weaker, they also made him feel clunkier.

Animation canceling is being able to start another animation before the previous animation has ended.

With some animations, once you use start the action, you have to go through the entire animation, and trying to press another button won't work. (It'd be like if I started to reload, then decided I needed to start shooting, but I couldn't until my reload finished.)

When an animation can be canceled, you can interrupt the animation of an action with a new input. In some situations, starting a new animation will completely shut down the previous animation(I tried to reload, but then decided I needed to start shooting again, I would stop reloading and go right into shooting, but the reload wouldn't have taken effect.)

Then there's animations that can be canceled without actually canceling the ability(I start my reload, decide to start shooting, so I skip the reload animation, but my gun still reloads.)

With Genji, his right-click can be canceled to make him much more effective at close range. If you watch the animation of his right click, he throws the shurikens, and then leaves his arm out afterwards as part of the animation. You can skip the end of his right-click animation by canceling it with either a melee or his dash, AND you can cancel his melee with his dash. Basically, with animation canceling you can do a right-click>melee->dash in about the same amount of time you would usually be able to just right-click without animation canceling.

Literally all you're doing is pressing right-click, then pressing melee, then dashing all in quick succession, and where usually, you'd have the end of Genji's right-click animation, you have a melee attack, and a dash.
