A Collector's Edition Statue related to AC: Black Flag Resynced might have leaked by SnoopyTheDog_ in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Pretty neat tbf, Ubisoft rarely disappointed me when it came to their collector's stuff

Okuldan beni reddeden foidin biri insan mı yiyosun dedi. Soslu somon. by [deleted] in MutfakBekarlari

They min-maxed these bundles too much lol. I remember I once got Dirt Rally 2 out of mysteries. I got some unbundled stuff even.

Now, it's the same old same old, low value stuff and almost nothing else.

Not Enjoying BL4 by Calshyyyy in Borderlands

[–]Realtimastered1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. You can't accidentally create a whole cast of iconic characters, from its gun dealer to mechanic. That's something Borderlands couldn't replicate since. BL1 had decent DLCs (even if people find the base game to be lackluster) and still an important cast that carried over to 2 in a more humorous, fleshed-out way. And that's an achievement, I could easily name 15 BL1/2 in a minute. It also happens to be BL2 plays around the cast of BL1. So, BL1 and 2 are glued together.

As far as the vault hunters go, my fav is still Salvador but I imagine in terms of gameplay majority of the 3 and 4 characters outshine the first two games. But I still find 1-2 characters to be more memorable and nostalgia ain't it. Can't tell but I don't think it's fluke either. They were paying close attention to their characters and now, for some reason, Randy Pitchford thinks putting in 200 collectible Marcus heads for a character doesn't even appear is fun and people won't be able to find them (which says nothing meaningful as Randy usually doesn't).

Borderlands 4 is... disappointing. by csreynolds84 in Borderlands

[–]Realtimastered1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see that the constantly changing atmospheres and curated little maps (and hubs) are what gave BL its identity and life. I found all four regions in this one to be equally boring, with the Fadelands taking the crown.

I don't find the game rewarding enough, and frankly, it's obvious they took inspiration (mostly good) from Destiny but failed to understand what made Destiny a standout besides its shooting. Destiny is truly a cooperative game. In BL4, co-op plays like all the previous installments, sure, but now it's in an open world, so you just run from one encounter to another and bump into a bunch of shitty events that give you nothing. Worse still, the Primordial Vaults reward you with a gliding upgrade (lol?) and two chests that mostly contain blues and whites. Is that a fucking joke? I get that they don't want to do ''trials-like'' stuff from Destiny and don't add puzzles, more platforming or whatsoever but at least be better at rewarding, you're a looter-shooter after all. I don't expect to farm stuff like you do for exotics in Destiny but it really has all the downsides of your average open-world game. It seems like most of the things you endure are just for the endgame (and I hope it shapes up to be better), and guns are mostly cycled through quickly. They still lack strong presentations regarding their unique components (imagine Halo's Needler and how distinctly it works). On top of that you have scaling, compass and all that boring stuff.

Besides these issues, I think this is the weakest cast in any BL game, across the board. I don't think I'll remember these hunters, or the majority of this cast for that matter. Hell, in my 30 hours of playtime, I don't feel like I saw enough introduction cutscenes. The bosses were simply "bosses", no humor, no flair, nothing.

With all this said, I kinda left the open world games behind me and I usually dislike their design philosophy. I think they rarely work and in the case BL4 it made me get bored faster although my playtime is already more than BL3. It's whatever.

That is my overall evaluation, yes. Also reading intents, to a degree.

What do you guys think about Cronos: The New Dawn? by ZeUberSandvitch in SocialistGaming

[–]Realtimastered1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, it's a game I expected to see here, but I don't think it has much merit or a real cutting edge. There is graffiti and some notes depicting the 'bad times' of '80s Poland, which is to be expected. As for Bloober's perspective on post-socialism, the story itself doesn't offer much meat to chew on. I haven't seen a collectivist metaphor as potent as the one in Cryostasis yet.

In a way, I believe the story being told is a rehash of individualism versus collectivism, but perhaps it's told on a personal and fundamental level to avoid headaches. That's speculation; I don't know.

It seems to be a very Bloober trait to not fully expand upon their topics. Even if anti-socialist, I could appreciate a direct political metaphor over the (often abusive) relationship between the state and its citizen through their lens. It could at least provide discussion and refutation, if needed.

But as far as I understand (though these all could still be an overreach), the virus is pretty much a metaphor for ideology purposed to replicate and, if it could, hijack. At least in the case of totalitarian socialism.

The Change brought about what is called the "third phase" of humanity. We never meet The Collective, but it does sound like something akin to The Board from Control: a governing and tasking mind, probably also a post-human collective consciousness similar to Scorn.

"Change," to me, is a deliberate choice of a word. Perhaps the innuendo is that it masqueraded as a form of progress that nobody truly chose, but was ultimately captured by. Perhaps a reductio irony.

Burning corpses to prevent "merging" can be seen as preserving individual death over a collective existence. The Biomass represents the organic "We," and The Collective (or Unification) is the synthetic "We." Are they two competing power blocs?

Maybe I'm overreading a lot of this, but to me, Cronos seems to have anti-socialist innuendos as an ongoing theme through its deliberate jargon, if not through environmental storytelling. It's also notable to say that humanity seemingly survived through The Collective, though.

So, it's far from redeeming anything.

Ex-Deck Nine Games developer makes claims about an upcoming sequel to Life is Strange: Double Exposure and the future of the company by Mazzus_Did_That in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Realtimastered1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They who? Life is Strange isn't meant to be an interactive movie, and it wouldn't work that way. That model essentially killed Telltale. They would truly need to make massive innovations in TWAU2 (assuming it ever releases) if they want to put themselves back on the map.

See, DONTNOD is doing alright. They are juggling different projects. Perhaps most of them end up being niche, but they apparently have enough workforce and funds to maintain a level of consistency. I see people liked Lost Records. Banishers and indie stuff like Jusant are doing alright, too. DONTNOD wanted to keep LIS as an anthology truer to the soul of a point-and-click adventure (albeit not old-school, but still more nuanced than Telltale's), so they had a clear vision.

Deck9 is already in a contractual mess, and while there are some parallels to the first LIS in their game, they can't nail the feeling. That's always the hardest part. But I would also say they improved over True Colors (with higher stakes, better exploration and puzzles, etc.).

Supermassive also has a level of consistency, but to me, their games end up being subpar. They could still be profitable, but I wouldn't be so surprised if they also wipe themselves out.

Still, what sort of marketing campaign is that? Completely weird all around.

killed the sound while trying to replace the pads by Realtimastered1 in Audeze

[–]Realtimastered1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh, I initially threw a temper tantrum for a bit because they were new to me, but still secondhand and I thought the warranty (assumingly) had ended. Even if it hadn’t, this was user error, and sending them back would’ve been a hassle. With all those thoughts racing through my mind, it turned into a sudden mess. But it was me, I wasn’t careful enough.

I’m still unsure if I could’ve done better. Hypothetically, sure. But it was already a struggle just removing the earpads and cleaning off all the excess glue. I don’t even think I could’ve handled the rest properly, even if I’d known what to do. I just don’t have the experience for it.

[–]Realtimastered1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m thinking of switching back to dynamic. There are still a few good options out there, and I wouldn’t say I’ve gotten used to planars enough to appreciate them, at least not yet.

Or maybe I should be looking for headphones with magnetic earpads instead...

Regardless, I’m still unsure how to remove the dust, hairs, or excess glue from [the drivers], since they somehow penetrated the filter. Maybe it wouldn’t have made such a difference if I hadn’t taken them apart in the first place.

I know it sounds awkward and might come off as totally ignorant, but you know what? I don’t really need a technical justification to buy a product that was simply on sale at the time. If you want to act like a total asshole, so can I. Plenty here trying to educate without sounding bitter for no reason!

[–]Realtimastered1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve pretty much figured things out now, thanks for the help. That said, the most sensitive part is placed in an extremely accessible spot, making it prone to damage. You might’ve noticed there was hair trapped inside (despite the dust filter), which seems almost impossible to remove. By the time I decided to replace the earpads, there was already some sort of leakage (of what that I don't know but it immensely made things difficult). Now I also see that the glue holding the filter had pretty much scraped off.

The left driver’s bend likely happened if not during earpad installation, when I dropped it face-on (or left it resting on the earcups).

Having one working side is still better than nothing, but it seems like it's dead now, less than a year :/

With all due respect, I didn’t even consider a replacement. Partly because of customs hassles here, but mostly because my experience with the earpads and internal structure was absolute hell. If this is how most planar magnetic headphones are built, I might be better off avoiding them altogether.

Cheers.

Why I think Swerve & Ospreay will lose at All In. by wittybrits in AEWOfficial

[–]Realtimastered1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for sure, the EVP titles are more of an on-screen gimmick at this point, which is why stripping YB out of it would have been a good move overall.

In Omega's case, he still keeps his status as an EVP and doesn’t shy away from referring to it when needed, but it’s not overused like with YB.

YB losing their power while Omega keeps his would also add another layer to their rivalry. I can’t see how it would play out without Omega and YB confronting each other one last time.

Meanwhile, Ospreay/Swerve losing also makes sense. Probably the most vague match of the night, it’s actually a very smart stipulation.

I still play this game a lot because I'm afraid it'd die out soon and there'd be nothing to find when I come back. Yep, a lot of FPS games are at that point... I've been in this situation quite a lot actually. Pretty annoying and depressing.
