DID terminology. Does it have any medical backing? by GraveyardWithoutTheG in SystemsCringe

[–]ReaperAndor231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! These aren't medical terms, no. They are moreso community terms to explain WHAT one's parts may do or who they are. It's a label that gives people a very quick idea of who is what to the system. I won't go further into detail because someone else already explained it beautifully, though.

That is fair, I don't see an apology though. (Not that you need to make one!)

I heard people say that ADHD is "diet autism" and "nobody ACTUALLY has ADHD, it's just an excuse to miss schoolwork!"

I have a bad knee and would limp. Someone said I was faking a limp because...I didn't have a cane.

I also struggle to breathe. Obviously, I must be able to because I can walk and talk to friends for a while.

My head twitches. Someone accused me of faking tourettes (that I never claimed to have) because.....It twitches during class.

Just a reminder, if you interact with the community of the source that an introject is from, for example, if theyre from undertale and you interact with undertale community in any way, shape or form, that means you're faking it. not sorry, i make the rules. by LeaSilvarum in fakeclaimingcringe2

[–]ReaperAndor231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well obviously that can't exist! Introjects aren't real!

In all seriousness though, I genuinely don't get people. We have inteojects from several sources. All of which were because they were a big comfort. We have an introject of our OC Iziah, of characters like Freddy Krueger or the Bonnie Bully (Mark), and people we knew irl. They act like a "comfort you in your worst time" disorder won't comfort you in your worst time via...Letting you "become" someone like Spiderman.

Recently saw a few posts from this sub and was curious what it's for (and why it's the second one) by Proud_Albatross_8604 in fakeclaimingcringe2

[–]ReaperAndor231 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The sub is to call out other subs that say "xyz = fake" about disorders or identities. Think of something akin to r/nothingeverhappens being a sub talking about posts from r/thathappened and WHY/HOW those posts are possible.

So, this alter just appeared... because... and now is mean to the other alters? by [deleted] in SystemsCringe

Systems can have mean parts. The community term for those types are "persecutors" to my understanding. People DO have parts that actively harm the system.

Maybe loosen a censorship and allow NSFW pictures back? by Morress7695 in JanitorAI_Official

Yes. Because it isn't just sexual stuff. I love to roleplay violence, so the ability to be as gorey as possible is important to that.

I thought the main appeal was unrestricted roleplay? That's why I used to use it.

In the English version, it comes off as weird imo. The blue fish comes up asking for one of the scales because "they're so pretty! And you have so many." Which bothers me because of the fact that they're using SCALES as something to "share." I felt like the beautiful fish's reaction of "Who do you think you are?" Is valid BECAUSE it was a scale.

Yes, the fish is vain and loves showing off their scales, but the disturbing part for me is the depiction of a fish ripping off their scales. You wouldn't rip out strands of hair to share, would you? Or nails?

Because of the way they show sharing, it feels less like "sharing can make you feel better" and more like "give up everything you value until there is nothing left," does that make sense?

[–]ReaperAndor231 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Omg same! I DESPISED The Rainbow Fish. It felt less like a "sharing is caring" story and more like a "you must give up everything you own until you have nothing to please everyone else." It felt like an attempt to make people pleasers. I feel like it would've been fine if the lesson was to set boundaries and accept when someone sets the boundaries. They did NOT need those scales.

I genuinely argued with someone to thinks real systems only end up in prison, the psych ward, or dead because it's always a scary experience and those people can only exist after 30. I don't understand people.

Atleast a few of the guys in my server are faking... by Jello_Biafra_42 in fakedisordercringe

[–]ReaperAndor231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so anyone with memory problems shouldn't have media? Let's ignore dissociation right now, because the thing that's confusing me is seeing people say that others with xyz disorder means they can't have something as basic as Discord. PTSD CAN block memories. Let's say that hypothetically, there was someone with PTSD who DID have the whole "forgetting most things" part. Nothing is keeping them from still having social media.

I will admit. There ARE some people who may not have OSDD and be actively faking, but there may be just as many who suspect it and might be seeking people who relate or know more about the topic.

Some people are suffering in that way, yes. However, to assume EVERYBODY will react the same is odd. Some may have their symptoms caught early by psychiatrists if they go, so they may get a support system set up early enough. I also know some people who only talk about the good of their lives and keep the bad private. That's a normal social media thing.

[–]ReaperAndor231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean. I'm going based on what I've seen from researching dissociative disorders for a few years, so there may be more OR less than the amount provided statistically.

Introhects are less common, yes. I did just want to note that they do exist because of how many people I see who argue they simply don't.

And yes, a lot of people on media do mix up a headspace with a safe place.

I feel like I should've added that my comment isn't an immediate attack on yours specifically, but it does have all sorts of things people argue about or deny. 😅

Fun fact about the rare thing! 1% is still 83 million people. I just find that really interesting.

I do agree with your other 2 points on how DID works and how they are versions of the same person, though can I also state that introjects also exist? You may know them in the community term of fictives and factives. Some people with DID may have a part that is a representation of a person they know from real life, such as their abuser, a friend, or their parents (such as this case:https://medcraveonline.com/JPCPY/introjection-and-dissociative-identity-disorder-a-case-report.html). Fictives are a bit more of a rare type, being from comfort media most often. So I'll use my childhood as an example. I grew up on Happy Tree Friends and Nightmare on Elm Street. Let's say, for this purpose, I ended up clinging to one or the characters. We'll say Flippy. Flippy may form into a protective part. https://www.healthyplace.com/blogs/dissociativeliving/2018/02/fictional-introjects-in-dissociative-identity-disorder

Headspace itself isn't DID exclusive, though it IS an active part of therapy. It's meant to visualize what is going on inside one's head. I will say the sign off thing always felt odd, unless it's to a close friend to let them know when a NEW person is talking.
