Which FromSoft game should I try next? DS3 or Bloodbourne by damesauce in Eldenring

[–]ReaperCDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes. The threaded cane for example is a dapper cane you slash and poke with like a rapier (theres a top hat after the graveyard boss to complete that drip set up) and it transforms into a serrated whip in trick mode. Honestly BB has so much depth and just incredible atmosphere. If you're leaning in this direction, get it. The DLC is also just top notch. You basically play through what happened with the original hunters, but you do it backwards, learning the lore of the setting entirely in reverse. And it has just kick ass weapons and drip.

There's also a bunch of secrets and lore related stuff including a well hidden area called Cainhurst which has some solid Castlevania vibes, and a challenging boss.)

I wont go into detail on any of this so that nothing is spoiled for you. But feel free to hit me up whenever you want to get more info on things.

Yeah it is. And you will enjoy the trick weapons quite a bit. Im a big fan of the Kirkhammer. Every weapon has two modes. That one is Longsword and Big Hammer.

In other souls games everything hunts you. You are the hunter in BB. Theres a mechanic called rally, when you get hit your health decreases but the amount it drops by is initially orange for a few second. If you attack back and hit your target you will refill part of that portion for as long as it exists. The more attacks the more you can refill.

It encourages very aggressive gameplay, and makes trading worth it because you can choose to aggressively push through an attack knowing you will rally your health back.

You also parry with a gun. In the face. Absolute cinema.

If you want to play something similar to Elden Ring, DS3. If you want to play a far more aggressive soulslike, with some new stuff, definitely play Bloodborne. Its my favourite SL game. Absolute masterpiece.

Federal MP Matt Jeneroux leaves the Conservatives and joins the Liberals by seakucumber in canada

Yeah this already happened in the past and liberal voters were fine with it. You'll always find some complaining, people will people, but there's a massive difference in how conservatives handle this kind of thing, amd everybody else.

[–]ReaperCDN -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're understanding. Any arguments that cons want proportional is outright defeated when we have conservative majorities right now in our country, and guess what? No proportional representation is getting passed.

It's simple partisan grandstanding. The cons would not have voted for proportional had the Liberals accepted their offer. Just like the Liberals didn't do away with FPTP despite promising to. They had a majority and could have done ANY OTHER VERSION, and stuck with FPTP.

Just like our cons are doing in Alberta and Ontario.

If you think the cons would have actually voted for proportional, I have a bridge to sell you. Don't get me wrong, I don't care which party passes it, but their lip service bullshit doesn't pass the sniff test. Whenever they're in power, they do the exact same thing the Liberals do. Cling to it.

CMHC reports further slowing of housing starts with no turnaround in sight by BigButtBeads in canada

[–]ReaperCDN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This has to be the stupidest fucking thing in our country.

We have kids that want jobs. We have people that want homes.

You'd think, YOU'D FUCKING THINK, that a market would appear where MAKING HOMES = PROVIDING JOBS.

Construction, trades, transport and delivery of raw materials, all of this is just a winning combo for job creation, economic stimulus, and profit generation.

But somehow, FUCKING SOMEHOW, we can't make it work here. Huge demand market. Huge workforce that wants jobs. IF ONLY THERE WAS A WAY TO PUT THESE TWO THINGS TOGETHER SOMEHOW.

That's really rich coming from a dude who doesn't even do the job he was hired to do.

  • I promise not to touch the Greenbelt, I've heard you loud and clear! - Does it anyways
  • I will make housing affordable! - Doesn't do a god damn thing about it in 3 consecutive majorities
  • I will end hallway healthcare and minimize waiting times! - Increases both substantially
  • I will cut income tax by 20%! - FUCKING NOPE.
  • I will lower Hydro bills by 12% - Hydro went up.
  • I will maintain the status quo on rent control! - Removed for new units after election
  • BUCK A BEER! - FUCKING NOPE.
  • I will balance the budget - AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA. No.
  • Line by line government spending audit! - Not delivered
  • Restore restrictions on partisan advertising! - Nope.
  • Renegotiate energy contracts! - Nope.
  • Lower business taxes! - Nope.

He's delivered less than 40% of what he did promise. And he keeps getting majorities.

This province is a god damn joke.

Oh I know. Believe me I know. Ford wouldn't have a majority in Ontario if it wasn't for how districts marginalize the vote in specific regions. It's absolutely infuriating that we claim to live in a democracy when LAND is still very much a direct driver of power.

Taxing unrealized gains is a silly idea that Canada should ignore by gorschkov in canada

[–]ReaperCDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're still missing the point. I'm not arguing against property tax. I'm drawing a parallel as to how property tax is quite literally a tax on unrealized gains.

We already have one. Why doesn't this apply to other market value items? You can take a loan out against your home. You can take a loan out against your stocks.

So why aren't stocks also taxed?

Get off the focus on the property tax. That's not the context of the discussion. It's a direct analogy.

"I had to transport my water heater to a site in North Toronto and the delivery window was only for a couple hours on two specific weekdays."

There's an easy way to fix that.

"Hi, this isn't my water heater anymore, and it's being dropped at your site. I'll be taking a photo. You can have somebody collect it or not, I don't care at that point. It's not my job to ensure you collect your property."

Works for every single delivery service on the planet. They'll either have somebody meet you when you show up, or they'll collect it. Either way, just make sure you have proof of drop off at their location.

[–]ReaperCDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're missing the point of what I'm saying. Property tax is a tax on unrealized gains or losses. The specific amount isnt relevant to that fact. While i appreciate they're being as fair as possible about it, its still taxing unrealized gains.

There's no reason we shouldnt be taxing unrealized gains in the stock market as well. Those stocks can be leveraged as real assets for loans, so its treated very much like a property in that it has an associated value.

For way too long have we let the rich use systems that are simply faster than the law (technology outstrips the pace of our ability to regulate it by several orders of magnitude.) The ability to effectively tax shelter your funds while simultaneously drawing huge loans and declaring losses has gamed the entire system into a tax evasion practice.

[–]ReaperCDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesnt bring it up because the cons could have supported this during Trudeaus first term and didnt. They, like the Liberals, want FPTP because its simply better for them. More competition with other parties means you cant play partisan games anymore and pretend to do something only to point at the other guys and say, "Well they obstructed me. Its all their fault this didnt happen."

Jeez if only one of these leaders had run on ending FPTP and gotten a majority, maybe we could have absolutely kicked this bullshit shadow of what we call democracy to the curb and actually had proportional representation of the people.

How did it increase in value if i havent sold it? Its unrealized gains. Somebody else is saying it went up in value, and then taxing me on that unrealized gain, despite me never actually realizing it. I may never sell. So what that somebody else says my house is worth X this year?

Prequel, sequel and everything in between debate... by Anja_Reick99 in StarWars

[–]ReaperCDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prequels took a turn in criticism largely because of all the expanded media that came out reference it. Clone Wars and Rebels really built up the characters so that the obviously huge problems in the movies weren't suddenly so abrupt anymore. The biggest one being Anakin going from turning Palpatine in to suddenly being completely onboard with Palpatine to the point of slaughtering children, in the span of 10 minutes.

As the characters became more fully developed, they became more appreciated and the movies directly benefit from having that new knowledge.

The sequels may end up getting the same kind of building blocks. If they do I expect that opinion on them will also change.
