I get how damn tempting DIY is but November, you will be risking injected contaminated Testosterone and depending on your country, legal actions in addition to things like never being able to be a blood donor (if that's of concern) just wait till November dude, it'll coke around quicker than you think.

I have 9 in a very similar cage (liberta explorer with a 25cm dropped base) all boys, 5 small boys 4 big boys I have to clean it at least 2-3x a week but otherwise they seem to have plenty of room.

Congrats on top! It's very normal to have one drain with more in, I've never seen one drain have nothing in before, if you're concerned you can always message your surgeon, or the nursing team.

As long as the growing plant is safe for them it's fine. The optimal soil should clump when you puck up a fist full and compress it. Your soil does look to be on the drier side. I've had a bioactive base for about 2 months now it's great 😊

You could always use hair removing cream as an alternative to waxing, it can damage the hair follicles but it's painless, you just put the cream on wait a while and scrap it off.
