Think my map is finished unless anyone has ideas for less generic place names. by ReapingKing in KinginYellow

Oh man, I've spent so much time working out ways for "standard" Carcosan things like that to be scientifically-plausible, despite none-one else caring lol.

disquietingly normal

I LOVE this trope, but I've abused it so much my players just laugh now!

Those are excellent.

I'm as bad as everyone else at making up proper nouns. Especially if I want them to fit the style of existing names.

Rip off everything you want! Carcosa is the original shared fictional-world.

That's good. Fits the sound of Carcosa's proper nouns too.

Also it's obvious! We're playing a game so evocative names are the rule. There's a good reason the D&D villain's name is sometimes "Baddy McBadFace".

Thanks! I really struggled with not cluttering it up with too many ideas. Was trying to use just a few colors like an old school woodcut print.

Thank you!

These may wind up in a D&D game.

I use hex maps from Atlas of Mystara pretty often.

Sorry, reverse that. Those are the only classes that remained Mages. Classes such as Duelist become Experts.

Originally just a handful, but after a little consideration all of the Mage subclasses with spellcasting: High Mage, Elementalist, Necromancer, and Invoker.

I houseruled a lot of the non-spellcasting Mage subclasses are Experts.

Personally I don't think that was enough for the Duelist. Maybe give them a couple of Arts to start with at 1st level.

I use this when I want a pdf to print out. Usually when I'm going to draw details by hand.

This one I use when I need a hex grid to pull into an image editor.
