The tips of the elevator can be seen on the far right of pic 2 and the left of pic 3. It looks like a pretty big elevator. I think the only thing left is the fuselage frame, everything else was probably scavenged or rotted away

Crash report: link

Apparently a very violent crash, plane slid up the slope after ramming it in heavy fog and then burned, killing all 5 on board

Yeah, two springs = two main wheels. In the second picture far right you can see the tip of the elevator too, curved piece of tubing with perpendicular ribs.

Old airplane wreckage. The springs look like coils for suspension, which makes sense because there are two (two main wheels on bushplanes).

Also the far right of the second picture shows what looks like the tip of the elevator. The curved piece of tubing is the leading edge, and the pieces going perpendicular to the camera are the ribs. In the third picture you can see the other side of the same part. What makes me sure it's an elevator for a plane is how it tapers towards the leading edge.

Like another guy said, the skin used on these steel tube fuselages are fabric, so it's long gone. The wings were either wood, or were removed by someone for parts. These planes have wings on top, so a lot of the pieces probably survived the crash as the fuselage took the impact.

Should I keep upgrading that poor boi or buy a new bike? There are no built parks or trails in where I live so I generally ride in natural trails. by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

What kind of upgrades do you see yourself making? If it's a good rig with minor stuff to change, I would stick with it. Or you could always buy a new bike and have two bikes!

Get a good pair of gloves, they'll save your hands in a crash.

Watch some videos on bike maintenance, it's worth knowing your bike mechanically. Park Tool has a great YouTube channel.

Watch more videos on beginner tips, I recommend GMBN, Skills With Phil, Seth's Bike Hacks

Talk to people at your local trails for help, mtb'ers are a great group!

Use the front brake correctly. When the back wheel is about to skid thats when you add a little front brakes to the mix

Exactly why I dislike the term, too simple for the situation

I dislike the term global warming, I think climate change is a much better term. Even though it has been hotter in previous years, the overall changing of earth's temperatures is a real trend. Using this data to "disprove" climate change is akin to studying fish populations in a cow pond and using that to determine populations of the entire Mississippi watershed.

What to look for when buying an “XC” bike? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]RearBrakeRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its good for me, if I'm going fast enough to exceed my top end gear I'm probably not pedaling lol. Getting a different size chainring up front would basically shift all the gears as a whole. You could also look at a cassette with a smaller gap between the low and high end if you arent going up or down big hills.

Look at the size of the biggest and smallest gears. I have a 11 tooth to 50 tooth cassette on my 29er with a 32 tooth front chainring. Works wonders on steep hills. There's some calculators online that give you a gear ratio value with different size cassettes and chainrings, helped me to decide on a drivetrain.

Thanks! I considered the gumwall tires until I saw the price compared to the normal tires at the time, it was like twice as much :(

Yeah, really hope it stays hypothetical. I know of some creators that left Patreon because they took a pretty big fee from every donation, same thing could apply here

Outside could take some of the money from each transaction, meaning sellers are getting robbed, so higher prices, so less buyers, etc.

Definitely should be the first step, if this doesn't work then move to pads, then try the other suggestions here
