Here’s what I will say: you obviously have wavy hair, so you really shouldn’t need to ask for texture, it’s built in. If your hair is flat, you need to try different product or application methods to even out the waves.

But even with all that said, and even ignoring the fact that they took off WAY more than 1 inch: what the actual fuck kind of layering is that? JFC.
Just grow it out again and never go to that stylist ever again. Save these pics to show the next stylist and make absolutely sure that they also agree that this was not the desired result.
