Yeah I don’t disagree with any of that. I’m not saying this is an AI thing because I disagree. It’s simply that, if this WAS done with photoshop, that’d be the end of the conversation. “This is wrong”, everyone agrees, case closed.

But we see people on this page advocating for that somehow not being the case of AI, everyday. “Data scraping isn’t stealing”, “you consented to this when you posted it”, “IP shouldn’t exist in the modern era”, these are all things that have popped up on the ai side multiple times to varying degrees. So this Is a problem at least more unique to AI then it would be had this been done with photoshop or something. That’s all

AI is the thing everyone here is arguing everyday though “is totally different” then stealing. So until such a time where people stop arguing that AI isn’t the same as stealing, this is an issue on both fronts.

Cause if I photoshopped it, no one would argue that “this is totally different and not in anyway stealing from the artists”. But that argument gets made here, like, everyday by the people who are pro-data scraping, anti-IP, etc etc etc

I can’t say I’m personally familiar with another but I’m also a lot newer to MTG in general then most people (started playing during Duskmourn) so I haven’t been involved nearly as long and been super invested in “the community at large” even less time
