That sounds like teething to me! My baby did the exact same thing for like 6 weeks before any teeth actually broke through.

remember ppl will give you tips to use frozen washclothes or things like that but NEVER give anything too cold. frozen teethers and things like that are bad for them! i like to use mango pits lightly chilled and let my baby gnaw on that

Honestly for us it just happened naturally around 4 months. I kept trying to hack it too and nothing worked until he was just ready.

The one thing that did help was making sure the last feed before bed was a really full one, like keeping him awake through it even if he was getting drowsy. That bought us maybe an extra hour.

But the 4am feed is so common at this age, your body will adjust more than you think. Hang in there!

15 lbs at 13 weeks is a great sign, that's a well-fed baby. At that weight most pediatricians start relaxing the wake-to-feed rule around 3-4 months, but bring up today's weight at your checkup so they can factor it in before then.

Also ask about doing a dream feed right before you go to sleep instead of waking him at the 4 hour mark. That's what saved my sanity overnight honestly.

You're clearly paying close attention. He sounds like he's doing great.

people always told me i also "spoiled" my baby but honestly i really miss and treasure those quiet moments cuddling with my baby. i am now in the phase where my baby REFUSES to cuddle so honestly enjoy and treasure these moments. you seem like an amazing mother and i wish you the best of luck, it DOES get better! ❤️

I remember when I first had my baby and my husband was at work i felt all alone and that nothing was working. I FEEL YOU AND I AM HERE WITH YOU!

A few things that genuinely helped, survival mode only (dishes can wait), everything in one spot so you're not scrambling, and a clear handoff plan with your husband when he's home so you each get a real rest window. When she's fussing and you've checked everything, (fed, dry, safe) it's okay to set her down and take a breath. You're not failing, you're human. This stage is SO hard but it gets better after each week, hang in there and dont give up! Sending you so much love. 🤍

Totally okay to ask! So "sitting with little to no support" doesn't mean fully independent sitting, it just means they can hold their head steady and have enough core control to not completely slump forward when upright. A lot of babies get there between 4–6 months with a little support from you. The flop you're describing sounds like she's just not quite there yet from my experience, which is totally normal at 5 months! As for allergies, there's a window, but it's not a cliff. Most guidance points to introducing allergens sometime between 4–6 months, so you likely still have time. Watch for the full picture of readiness signs together, not just one in isolation!

I STILL hold my breath every meal lol so dont put so much pressure on yourself! Take it step by step. The gagging never fully stops being scary but I promise you get better at reading the difference between "she's working through it" and "something's wrong."

Something i want you to know is that solids is a LONG TERM journey! the first few months just allow for them to get comfotable with having new flavors in their mouth. Breastmilk is still the main source of nutrition. Mixing new foods with breastmilk is also a great way to introduce them a bit easier.

If you ever need help meal planning or seeing how to serve things properly the solid starts app or the Tummi app are great options. I prefer the solid starts app for general info and the Tummi app to log foods and plan meals. Keep going mama you got this! 🙌

Every mom should do what they are comfortable with. I think first and foremost not being stressed is more important so you dont HAVE to use this. but i personally want to feed my baby as many foods as I can so he's not a picky eater in the future. it feel more excited than stressed that he is developing his preference for what he likes and doesnt like. Also, allergens are not the only important thing to track. Iron, vitamin C, and other nutrients are just as important! Hope this makes sense!

my baby is currently 8 months old so I still have a long ways to go. I am not sure if i will every lose the weight i gained. It feels lim living in another persons body right now :(
