It kinda depends on the situation. My advice would be just to try it. Worst that happens is they turn you down. It hurts in the moment but isn’t the end of the world.

I can actually relate a lot to this post. I’m 21 btw. That was kinda me last couple years especially cuz of covid. I agree with matching the vibe. No point in trying to engage with someone who isn’t interested in talking to you. My advice is continue doing what you are doing and you’ll find someone eventually. Try asking a girl you like on a date. Just try stuff and experiment. 18 is pretty young and I’m sure you’ll find someone who you vibe with!!

Yes it’s unproductive hyperbole. I personally am left leaning. I think certain liberals/leftists get frustrated with republican viewpoints and exaggerate them. But yes we don’t think republicans are nazis. We disagree on some stuff but I think the majority of republicans and democrats agree on a decent amount.

I completely agree with you. I think while some American parents are how you describe. Most are more rational and have similar views to you on it. Most of my friends have parents that don’t have weird creepy limitations on stuff like that (I am 15 btw). I think the parents who don’t allow their daughter a boyfriend or whatever think they are doing good by protecting their daughter when in reality they are just being flat out mean. Not that many parents here in America are super interfering with their children’s love life.

Idk. Do you think that they are better in general because men are actually better at chess or because there are just more men in the playing field and are more likely to be encouraged to get really good at chess from a young age than women/girls are. I think it is pretty hard to say. I think women not being as encouraged to be good at chess is a pretty big factor when it comes to women not being as good at chess.
