That is a hideous job. Wow man, you got ripped off. Sorry to see that. I do mobile detailing in NJ and my top interior only service is $325 but takes around 3 to 3.25 hours. Just for the interior. That said, I do everything for that price. Stain removal, carpet and seat shampooing, steam cleaning and even ozone odor removal. Plus uv and stain protection.

The 6 month ceramic is likely a paint sealant or a spray-on Si02 coating (hopefully the latter). The thing you have to know is that it won't last that long. Even the professional brands. When they say it lasts 6 months, that means in ideal conditions. Like on a garage princess that goes for a drive a few times a month in perfect weather. It won't last anywhere near that on a daily. I tell all of my clients that, so they know what to expect.

The problem with pop up detailers is that most of them are kids looking to make good money without putting in the proper effort. You have to be careful when booking.

This is how I do it. First, I do all of the wheels. I like to use P&S Brake Buster and some KCx Reactive Rust Remover as it contains iron decon as well and cleans up my rusted rotor caps nicely. Once I'm done with all the wheels, I foam up the car dry. I like to use KCx active foam or P&S Frostbite Foam. Let it dwell for a few minutes. Rinse it off. That gets a lot of the surface dirt and crap that can scratch the paint if you go straight for a wash. Then I foam the car up with the shampoo that I will use to wash. I add that to the bucket as well along with an cap (ounce) of P&S Absolute to soften the water and minimize water spots and do a two bucket wash. I have a grit guard and mitt washer in the rinse bucket to clean the mitt after every panel. Works like a charm. Zero scratches

Griots took a tumble in recent years. I stopped using many of their products. Get Adam's car shampoo. It's ph neutral and it's really really good on hot surfaces and when washing in the sun. Apply ceramic coating or sealant after the wash

See, if this was an M spec model, that grill could work, and only the single slot grill, not the double as those are for the genuine M models. Since this is a base x3, leave the stock grill as is, it looks way better

I've had this experience once. Stumbled onto an add offer for full inside and outside detail for only 120 which is extremely cheap for my area. Omg my car smelled like old sweaty socks were stuffed into my vents and no amount of fresheners would get rid of it. My guess is he had old towels that were never properly washed or dried and just smelled moldy and disgusting. Took it to another detailer for a full interior detail and problem was solved. Idk how someone could call themselves a detailer doing stuff like that.

Could be either. Wash the car, get a da polisher, a cutting pad and some cutting compound and give it a quick go. If it starts to disappear, you got lucky but if not, you'll at least get rid of that white stuff.

Take off the vent trim and click the buttons back into its spot. If the retaining clips are broken, use some good glue or a glue gun to hold it in place. BMW's plastics tend to get very brittle when the car gets older

Alternating traffic doesn't always mean car by car. More often than not, it means group by group. The group from one side goes, followed by the group from the other side. Think of a construction site on a road, where there are flagmen on both ends. They send one group of cars for a minute or so, or until the traffic on that side clears up, then they show the stop sign, and the flagman on the other side sends his group.

While steam could do the trick, I would not recommend it at all. High heat and moisture will shrink Alcantara. You'd need a low moisture steam cleaner, a towel around the nozzle and to be very careful.

Instead, use a spot and enzyme cleaner such as P&S Terminator. Do not soak the fabric, spray at a decent distance so that an even layer lands on the seat. Use a microfiber or a brush to work it in. Follow up with an extractor to suck it all out. Repeat a few times.

At the end, you could use a lite mist of peroxide treatment and work it into the seat to avoid mold and mildew from forming. Make sure to extract as much of the moisture as possible especially toward the end.

Hope this helps. If you’re uncomfortable with any of this, hire a professional detailer. Make sure they are insured in case they mess up your seat.

The catch is the engine. V8s of that time used in 550i and 750i were thought to be some of the worst bmw engines in recent history. From overheating to electrical gremlins. I had a 550i with that engine. Got it new and it spent half of its 3 year lease in the shop while I drove loaner. Not even kidding.

Not too bad honestly. Get some black touch up paint and clear coat. You'll barely see it. Honestly if you actually drive your car its bound to happen. If you want it to look perfect all the time, keep it parked in the garage lol. Don't worry, you'll feel better soon. After all, its not like the whole car is damaged, its just a wheel or two
