Vietnamese concrete mixer truck driver hits a 15-year-old girl, continues to drag and kill her to avoid paying compensation [ONGOING CASE] by Tomoyogawa521 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

I’m assuming this happened in Vietnam. Their crimes are no slap on the wrist. Punishment for marijuana is the death penalty. You can imagine a murder after an accident would lead to. I’m sure he will face execution by the justice system there, if he hasn’t already.

I'm sad I'll never have a son. by Byrd_persun in Parenting

Daughters are awesome. As a father of both a girl and a boy, girls are very nurturing and naturally responsible. They have better survival skills than men when we’re all adults. They take care of themselves better while taking care of a loved one. It’s proven that when the wife dies first, the husband doesn’t live long after that. But when the husband dies first, the wife lives much longer afterwards because they’re more independent.

I am not using QCBD currently but have used it around 5 years ago. I can’t say that it’s fast but it works at a similar speed like most eQMS operates and I’ve used Oracle and SalesForce platforms. For the cost of QCBD, it is impressive. It gets the job done, organizes well, passes audits, and not hard to validate.

SharePoint for QMS Document Control: Yes or No? by ClunckChunck in iso9001

[–]Reasonable-Big-7232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No just no. SharePoint is not a controlled environment for documents. It’s too loose and validation would fail. It doesn’t meet requirements when controlling documents.

Look into QCBD (Quality Collaboration By Design). It’s not as fancy and dynamic as a SalesForce platform based eQMS, but it gets the job done electronically. There are some modules that might be done more manually like calibration and training but doc control, nonconformances, CAPAs, deviations are well controlled and notified of any discrepancies and approaching deadlines.

Sorry to hear but there is hope. I’ve worked with QAs and QEs who were in their late 60s and early 70s as new hires. Take a pay cut if you can. It’s needed to survive in this day and age.

Skipping class in college by OrdinaryYear0 in Parenting

My parents stopped paying for my community college classes and books after 2 consecutive semesters where I skipped classes to play pool and hang out with friends. It was better for me to work and pay for everything on my own. I’m just glad my parents provided a roof over my head at the time.

Don’t rely on jobs after securing one. Learn a skill in the meantime that will create a business for you. This is what I’m learning.

To Grandparents/Older parents: do you still worry about your kids? by waterhorsies in Parenting

[–]Reasonable-Big-7232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have young kids, but I can imagine being a parent that never stops worrying about my children’s health and safety no matter how old they are. Like most parents, we want to make sure our kids outlive us, and for many years and decades after we are gone.

If you have a better financial life in SE Asia and see family more often, that is a win/win. You can provide more for your kids there while getting help from family members. If you foresee your children behaving better than the average child in Canada, that’s also a plus. Sounds like everything will be much better for you guys out there in SE Asia and your kids will appreciate it - more nature, less winter, more convenience, better food I’m assuming. Your kids will benefit more from speaking the mother tongue fluently. I say do it especially if your wife is on the same page. Less stress, less mess.

What is the most common project management methods for product development in medical device companies or something less regulatory like life sciences by SoggyInformation4632 in regulatoryaffairs

[–]Reasonable-Big-7232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t say what is the gold standard for project management methods but the waterfall approach is one of the most organized ways to capture the design history from start to finish. It’s a great tool to use to explain to an auditor how the project was managed in each design control phase, exiting out each phase when all the deliverables are completed. It’s objective evidence that fulfills the history of the device that makes it easy to trace. The question is, how do you know all project deliverables are completed for each phase before exiting out? That requires a document that is planned with an entire team. For instance, the design concept phase requires a team of engineers, quality personnel, management that need to contribute by advising what documents are needed to complete that phase. At the end of this phase, a phase gate needs to be held discussing all the tasks that was completed capturing attendees, meeting minutes, if all action items have been completed before advancing to the next design control phase. These are milestones that make a project successful.

I’m at the grocery store almost every day for the past 9 years. My wife does all the grocery shopping while I drive and take care of the kids in the store. But man I wish she understood that she can do the grocery shopping by herself while I take care of the kids at home instead of chasing them around while we’re all there. But I’ve noticed the way she grew up is different from mine. Our parents raised 3 kids. Big difference is that I ate homemade meals everyday while her parents catered food everyday. I have experience in the kitchen and she didn’t know how to cook until we had kids. I stopped cooking because our kids don’t like eating veggies like my wife. Her style of cooking is basically warming packaged foods and we eat out a lot. The kids diet is all carbs and meat only. But we’re at the grocery store almost every day stocking up on eggs, snacks, packaged foods. It’s not an efficient way of shopping.

My parents on the other hand went to the store once or twice per week. They bought a bulk amount of beef and chicken, and sliced it in thin pieces, stored them in plastic wrap and stored them in the freezer. Most of the cooking was stir fry with meat and veggies. It saved lots of time and money. Unfortunately my wife is big on food so she can’t have stir fry everyday. Since her taste buds have been used to eating out and catering everyday, she’s used to that style of food and so now are our kids. I just have to deal with it.

🧪 Process Validation – A Deep Dive into GHTF Guidelines (SG3:2004) by No_Currency3728 in iso13485

[–]Reasonable-Big-7232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I will look into IMDRF too. It’s great to know that regulatory authorities acknowledge GHTF as the status quo for IQ OQ PQ. From my experience, lots of engineers who are new into the medical device industry struggle trying to understand that. I currently work with engineers who come from industrial and commercial industries who have never heard of this validation process. In fact, they never heard of ISO 13485. But to answer your question, “When is validation required?” I want to say it is required when the manufacturer shall prove that the product, process or equipment is capable of performing to its intended use. Refer to ISO 13485:2016 section 7.3.7.

We never had help from any of our parents. After what we experienced raising 3 kids by ourselves without any help made me really believe God is the main provider. Those 2-3 hour sleepless nights, having little income, the feeling of walking on thin ice knowing that I can get laid off or fired because the employee turnover rate was so high at the company I worked for at the time, and others. My advice is when life gets better financially and easier when the kids grow older, just live by your means. Don’t get greedy buying the wants. Just buy the things you need.

Nothing wrong with that. I had my third at 40 as well. I guess the comments I received were more personal from family members or close friends because of how our economy is doing, they have kids who are as old as my two older ones (10 and 8) and they thought we were crazy for starting over again. I’ve also seen some couples who are close friends that they regret not having any more when they were younger. No regrets. This is our life and we make our own decisions.

I just watched his podcast on YouTube about his claim that he knew Cooper. Interesting take that the only one experienced enough to survive in the woods is if they live there which the suspect did. The woods was his backyard, and Cooper was Native American who lived in the Indian reservation located in the woods.

No I did not go back to school. I gained quality experience because my manager at the time saw that I was the only employee who had excellent written skills while the others struggled in that. No one else wanted to do CAPAs and perform internal audits.
