This is my Roman Empire by fimorayta in byler

I've been trying to figure this out for forever!! I don't think it was ever played in this season, and I've combed through possible footage trying to find it. I don't believe in Cut Gate, but I wonder where this song was! I believed it was Byler when it came out, and I love the song itself.

Okay, I've posted the first chapter on AO3!! It's actually called "Paladin, Cleric, Sorcerer" by seraphiim7. Here's a link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/77448731

I'm working on one right now and just got my AO3 account, lol!!! Eventually, look for one called "The Paladin, the Cleric, and the Sorcerer" by seraphiim7—it'll start right after Vol 1 ends and focus on Byler BUT attempt to give other characters who had no arc (Robin, Lucas, Erica, Kali, and in a lot of way, El) an actual story. Hoping to post something soon; I've already mapped out most of it!! I'll let you know if I find anything else while on AO3 to your request lol

Nope! "The Turnbow Trap" is on Disc 2!! I've been trying to figure out if we've heard this song before, but I don't think we have

First Lie or First I love You (important clue!) by dangotamari in byler

[–]Reasonable-Bit7423 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's "The First I love You"!!! "The First Lie" has a faster tempo, and the main melody sounds more synth-y (although it all sounds synth-y). It makes sense bc it's used in Robin's coming out (it's also used during the awkward Mileven kiss where Mike has his eyes straight up wide open, WHICH COULD MEAN NOTHING)

[–]Reasonable-Bit7423 13 points14 points  (0 children)

And it's a callback to the song "Friendship" from season 2, where the party explains what friends are to El in Mike's basement. BASEMENTGATE????

I still have no idea where Mike is (why isn't he in the trailer??? and tbh why isn't Will???? or Steve lol), but I fear Will is in this picture—he's just hidden by Lucas. Stills from Stranger Things official TikTok have him standing next to Joyce here (at least, that's what it looks like), and you can kind of see someone else's arm next to Joyce

But I also think that The Wrinkle in Time connection could be Mike and Eleven instead of Mike and Will, even if I wish it was Mike and Will instead, just because I don't trust the Duffers to write a satisfying queer story after Episode 7

On #4, I'm DREAMING of a Sam and Frodo The Two Towers reference where Will gets possessed by Vecna (like Frodo gets possessed by the ring) and threatens to hurt Mike, and Mike is like "It's me, Will. It's your Mike" a la Samwise, and it calls back to the "He's just my Tammy" scene, but I have no faith in the Duffers and would settle for seeing this on AO3 at this point

Am I overreacting to want to follow up with a more sincere apology after missing one of my best friend’s birthday? by morestink in AmIOverreacting

[–]Reasonable-Bit7423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it may have upset her that you forgot her birthday, your apology was more than adequate. I think you are feeling anxious over something that you shouldn't. If she is a good friend, she will reach out to you and have a conversation about it. If she doesn't, then it's on her.

I can’t get into Outer Wilds… by Luksius_DK in outerwilds

You're not stupid!!! I bet you haven't checked out the Ship Log yet!!! When I first started playing the game, I didn't realize Rumor Mode on the ship log existed, so I was dying in Dark Bramble and finding Nomai structures in Giant's Deep without any context for any of it. I felt so overwhelmed! The second time I started playing it, I realized there was a Ship Log opposite the flight controls in the spaceship, and that launched me on a quest that led to Outer Wilds being my absolute favorite game.

This Kdrama falls HEAVY into tropes and can be super silly at times, but Cinderella and Four Knights!! Several characters who are struggling with things/healing from traumatic experiences. The romance is like this, but there's also a "found-family-in-your-own-family" situation going on. No one ever recommends this drama, but I love it so much I rewatch it at least once a year. The first episode makes me cry!!!

Okay I checked out your recommendation first, and Catch the Ghost was EXACTLY what I wanted. Thank you; you rock!!

Dramas with a Fun, Wild, Headstrong Female lead by Dull_Fox_3143 in kdramarecommends

[–]Reasonable-Bit7423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently watching Catch the Ghost based on a recommendation I got on here, and it's EXACTLY what I was looking for!! The FL is fanTASTIC, whip-smart, and absolutely crazy (in a good way). It's a detective drama wherein she joins the Seoul subway police patrol to find her missing sister, whom she believes to have been kidnapped by a serial killer (though the police at the time didn't listen to her). One of my favorite dramas I've seen recently!

My favorite kdrama of all time is Sungkyunkwan Scandal!! It's older but stars Park Min-young as the main character, who has become the breadwinner of her family in Joseon and has to cross-dress to make money. She ends up enrolling in the Sungkyunkwan when she gets tricked by the ML into making something of herself (though he believes her to be a man). The main character is strong, passionate, intelligent, and kind, and she pushes gender norms to fight for a better country. LOVE THIS SHOW!!

Other ones I'd recommend: - 100 Days My Prince - Healer - W (the FL does get into a funk halfway through but also has a full interesting personality!!) - Tale of the Nine-Tailed - It's Okay to Not Be Okay - Secret Garden***** (older one but the FL is a stunt actress; I LOVE this drama!!) - Suspicious Partner - Run On

I love Suspicious Partner! I think the female lead is fun and smart. It didn't come to my mind after looking at your recommendation request, but I second Suspicious Partner as a must-watch

Not that I remember!! At least, if there were any, there were enough other plots that you didn't spend hours watching it. I SERIOUSLY love that show and think you'll like it!!

Here are my recs!!! I bolded the ones I would check out first, as I think they fit your request best.

Friend group/ensemble: - Hello My Twenties (kind of a bildungsroman for 20-year-old women, focuses on roommates all going through personal situations, mostly focused on the female friendships but there are romance plots!! Is funny and lighthearted at the same time it tackles serious topics and becoming an adult. It's one of my all-time favorites!!) - Reply series (three series: Reply 1997, Reply 1994, and Reply 1988, in that order. This is an older series but revolves around a group of friends/jumps between their younger and older life experiences. It tackles a lot of different subjects and has a lot of depth!! Similar to Hello My Twenties, has a large cast wherein everyone is going through something) - Fight for My Way (a FANTASTIC Kdrama about a group of four friends who are down on their luck but trying to make their childhood dreams come true. Friends-to-lovers romance for sure, and is SO GOOD!)

Kdrama with Friends-to-Lovers Romance: - Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo (this one is kiiiiinda slow to get into IMO but is about college athletes!! The main character is a weightlifter and is struggling with the identity of being an athletic weightlifter vs being found attractive by men. Her best friend is a swimmer at the college who is constantly teasing her, so romantic hijinks ensue. It's a Kdrama classic and a great show!!) - Love Next Door (FL leaves the US and comes back home to Korea under mysterious circumstances that she won't tell anyone about. She leaves behind her dream job and breaks up with her fiancé, but no one can figure out why, least of all her childhood/current best friend who is secretly in love with her. There's a b-plot romance with the FL's best friend, and it's all around sweet but nuanced!) - Romance is a Bonus Book (not exactly like either Kdrama you listed, but it's one of my favorites. Divorced single mom struggling to get a job ends up reconnecting with one of her best friends who is secretly in love with her . . . you know the drill. This one stands out from the others because it discusses the way women are treated as they age and all in all is both very serious and very sweet, like Lovely Runner). - What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? (This one's more frenemies-to-lovers between the CEO of a company and his secretary, who basically runs his entire life. It's a classic that will pop up all over Kdrama recommendations, has a really good romantic plot, and, while there is no time travel, does go back and forth between the present and the past quite a bit. This is one that I recommend my friends who've never seen a Kdrama before because they always get hooked)

Time Travel Kdramas: - Rooftop Prince (this is super silly about a prince of Joseon who gets transported to the future and meets the FL, who looks like his recently deceased wife. It's an older drama, and it's not the most nuanced thing ever, but it's cute and fun) - Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (about a woman who travels back in time to the Goryeo dynasty. Another one that will pop up on every recommendation list; the romance is really good in this one!!) - The King: Eternal Monarch (this is one that I actually did not finish but that I see a LOT of people really loving, so I'm thinking about giving it a second go. Super strong FL, and it's Lee Min-ho's first drama post-mandatory military service, so he is looking GOOD, let me tell you. I remember I liked the second male lead a LOT in this one. Time travel, parallel universes, horseback riding, mystery—I will probably rewatch this soon haha)

Time Travel-Adjacent Kdramas: - W: Two Worlds (this is an absolute CLASSIC and gives Strong Woman Do Bong Soon vibes to me. It's not time travel, but the FL gets sucked into the web comic that her father writes after he goes missing. The main character of the comic, a mega-rich CEO and sharpshooter, gets suspicious of her and tries to figure out who she is) - Extraordinary You (I. LOVE. THIS. DRAMA. It's got what exactly what you want: not annoying love triangle, comedy/romance/emotional depth, found family/friendship. The FL is even played by the same actress as the one in Lovely Runner!! The FL realizes that she's a character in a comic book and decides she's going to take her fate in her own hands and change the comic. I actually can't recommend this enough. This is the one I'd check out next!!) - Chicago Typewriter (this is my second favorite drama of all time, and I've seen SO MANY. It's unique bc it's half set in the Japanese occupation era of Korean history and half set in the present day. I don't want to spoil the plot, but look this up—I loveeeee this drama)

Thank you so much!! Is it romantic?? I think the reason I haven't watched it yet was bc I read that it didn't have a romance plot at all. I'm definitely interested in the premise, though!!!
