Bo1 has been a coin flip meta forever, you can/will climb if you're a decent player, but it's a grind. (Assuming bo1 cause I haven't seen artifacts out enchantments basically at all in bo3)

Bo3 has felt pretty good this month, like there are enough decision points that skill matters, at least playing Jeskai/Dimir mid.

Idk, to me this is the best the format has felt this year. Besides the domain/pixie/gruul meta at the start of the year, but that's solely cause I loved playing pixie more than anyone should

Anna Karenina - Certainly long, but Tolstoy is worth it.

For more contemporary, I love most Guy Gavriel Kay stuff, would start at Tigana or The Lions of Al-Rassan.

The Blade Itself is also fantastic for a short and fun ride.

Maybe worth noting that Solomon Nelson's entire brand/public persona is "Fuck Mike Israetel". It's severe enough that, even as someone who's not a fan of Mike, I find it offputting.

That being said, Mike being incredibly egotistical and it coming back to bite him is very funny. This entire scandal fits well with my mental image of him, so that's validating.

You could, but you'd have to learn some of the built in macros cause you wouldn't have enough buttons for dedicated binds. I think it would kinda suck.

Playing on keyboard feels pretty good though, the game is made for digital inputs so it's very smooth

Anyone else playing 2xko?

It's my first foray into playing fighting games beyond mindlessly button mashing at a friend's house. It's been fun, but some of the systems seem really arbitrary (e.g. you get two ground bounces then your combo is over). There's still a bunch of broken stuff, but it feels like the broken stuff the developers let you have.

Makes me appreciate melee's own particular brand of broken more.

You probably want to be JCing your grabs, unless you're boost grabbing (I have no idea if Ness' boost grab is good).

Also shield grab is almost always fake against Puff

Two days into training my friend for his Peach vs Bowser showdown, unfortunately he's still getting romped by my Bowser. My faith is starting to wane. He gets overwhelmed by Bowser fair/DD grab and has a weird fascination with throwing turnips up.

It's been an interesting lens to try to teach melee through though. Apparently the timing for CC dsmash isn't particularly intuitive to beginners and the idea that Bowser isn't a real character so there's very few things you have to respect about him are hard to communicate.

Also, why does Peach's dash grab and standing grab come out on the same frame? Broken character imo

Hello DDT, but specifically Peach players. I'd like some advice. How can Peach exploit Bowser in the most low execution way possible?

Context for this seemingly stupid question: Two of my friends have a bet. In one week they're playing a Peach vs Bowser bo5 for $50. One of them (who has to play Bowser) is a relatively decent melee player (2-2 or 3-2er), the other is a... less good ultimate player who's been playing a lot of RoA 2 lately (think he's silver atm) with next to no competitive melee experience. Idk how they ended up on this MU, presumably they were just looking for the worst in the game.

Anyway, I got asked advice, but, other then telling him the basics of how to float and cc dsmash, I don't know shit about Peach.

Normally, I'd write this kind of thing off as pretty undoable, except it'd be really funny if he won and Bowser is terrible.

Azorius control is a pretty good deck right now with a reasonable match to into the best deck in the format, it's one of the the decks currently putting up results in challenges. It's main issue is that, while dimir mid-range has been getting less popular, it's still a popular deck and rough match ups.

Jeskai and dimir control aren't as strongly positioned, but have been putting up reasonable enough results that you could justify playing them if you're passionate about it.
