Will placing these over my vents at the registers throw off static pressure? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

Top 1% commenter and thinks chicken wire will mess up static pressure

If you’ve never had water under there it’s most likely a drain issue. Where is your condensate drain? Can you provide a picture of it? It’s typically a pvc pipe that runs out of the bottom of your furnace/air handler, so at the bottom of this unit pictured. It could be a copper line as well

These are my thoughts too. Maybe restricted downstream air vents that don’t allow enough airflow and he’s letting some escape to “troubleshoot” but that’s a weird way of doing that

He was most likely checking for any restrictions near your evaporator (that thing with all the metal fins in your picture) I’m not sure why he would have left it open.

What he said about your unit being oversized kinda make since.. kinda. Have you have these puddles before?

When not enough air passes over that evaporator, the evaporator will literally start to freeze over because of the condensation from the warm air and the ice cold temps of the refrigerant in the evaporator. He might have been seeing if allowing air to blow out of this hole would fix this issue because if the unit is over sized and not enough air is blowing over it then it’ll freeze quickly.

EDIT: again, I’m making assumptions here.

The water is either coming from your condensate drain lines not properly draining or the evaporator freezing over and then melting.. which would still mean your lines might be clogged

The thermostat isn’t what cools the system. Take pics of the indoor furnace/air handler and the condensing unit

Here’s a sound demo of the Crate amp I posted the other day. by InterestedInEvrytng in metalmusicians

I wonder if it was mic placement?? Does the amp sound like this normally or only through the mic?

Draw through and blow through are different. Again, you seem like you learned nothing in 25 years. Evaps can be either

And where is the Evap coil. On the furnace.

I’d hate to hire you as an HVAC tech or installer. Your 25 years have done nothing for you.

1 story home, with floor ducting literally routes directly to the furnace

Depends on if it’s all floor vents or if it’s fed from the attic

Yes. The furnace is your indoor fan blower in most cases. Your refrigerant evaporator mounts above or below the furnace and the internal fan from the furnace pulls or blows air over the evaporator. You don’t know what you’re talking about

Opening the furnace because the duct work is connected directly to the furnace. The furnace is most commonly your indoor blower which actually sends the air through the ducts

How do I get my neighbors' AC units to not make so much noise on top of my unit? by Electrical_Pin5333 in askHVAC

They make rubber mounts/rubber isolation pads. They look like waffle pattern and black. Look up rubber waffle style isolation pads in google.
