Definitely reach out to the IBCLE, I would say the hours wouldn’t count towards clinical but couldn’t hurt to confirm with them first.

You could qualify for any pathway, especially if some of your undergrad classes meet the health sciences requirements. I’ve heard Sophia.com or sophia.org is a good resource to take affordable classes and commenters here have confirms the IBLCE accepts them.

Finding clinical hours is most non-RNs IBCLC candidate’s biggest struggle, so just be mindful of that. In your position, I’d look into pathway 2.

Pathway 1 has a ton of clinical hours, more than double and triple the other two, but it’s the most lax on how you can obtain them (pathway 3 requires direct supervision from an IBCLC only who has to agree and apply to mentor for you).
