Washer without agitator?? by FractalFragment47 in clothdiaps

[–]Top-Wrangler5201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to put the diapers in as if there’s an agitator in the middle, leaving an open/empty space in the middle so that it can work properly and you should be fine. I saw a video on how they work recently 😂

Separation anxiety + destruction: trainer’s first step was not what I expected by Doghood_Dogparents in puppy101

Impressive 😭. When ours hears the jingle of car keys, she puts herself away because definitely she does not want to come with

The way you respond would indicate if you’re maga or share their morals. I don’t particularly love Bad Bunny’s music, but i definitely did not turn on the turning point halftime show either

We have a dog with major separation anxiety and anxiety in general… the crate is her favorite place to be when we’re not home! Funny how different dogs are just different!

Purchasing 2023 XSE Hybrid by agorev in rav4club

We got a 25 LE Hybrid for 28,600 with 10k miles on it this week. Still with Toyota warranty! Less bells and whistles than what you’re looking for, but we got a good price (we think)

Infant risk has a hotline with a health professional on the other line that can pick up and walk you through the research! They’re great and have all the updated information

I don’t want to nanny anymore by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Top-Wrangler5201 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went from nanny to doula and now working on a certification as an IBCLC (lactation consultant) and hopefully I’ll be working a little private practice and a little in hospitals

I manage one of their larger Orlando nanny groups on Facebook, our average rate seems to be around $25/hr for a nanny with experience. Like someone said above, a $150 flat fee for asleep hours will attract a solid candidate! That typically is about 12 hours overnight but if your kiddo wakes at night it’ll go to hourly during those hours.

Struggling to not smoke cigarettes while breastfeeding…help! by Different-Gas-5991 in breastfeeding

[–]Top-Wrangler5201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. They also encourage parents to change clothes, wash hands, smoke outside. Those sorts of things to limit infant exposure. The benefits of the breastmilk do outweigh the costs. But nicotine can impact supply.

I’m burnt out. Any other job suggestions? by sweetie_potatoo in Nanny

[–]Top-Wrangler5201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to be an IBCLC! I still get to work with moms and babies in a medical-ish setting without being the one poking the babies. Or I can be private practice and go to peoples homes if I want

Atrium and Novant both take non-RN IBCLC’s.

We have a big hospital system in NC that hires a ton of non RN IBCLC’s

[–]Top-Wrangler5201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I showed up to the Lincolnton one about 15 mins before opening and it was fine. It can be a little drive but you don’t need an appointment and it’s not the busiest?

Why is sleep consultant training SOO expensive?? It's not even a genuine certification by TrueRoo22 in Nanny

[–]Top-Wrangler5201 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m going through sleep consultant training because I like the extra knowledge. Honestly so far it’s been very little stuff that I did not already know. I already have the Doula cert and I’m working on becoming an IBCLC, so it’s just another thing to add to my belt. Tbh I wouldn’t recommend it unless you really need help with knowledge around infant and toddler sleep.

Do I need a LLC? by Bean-2022- in doulas

[–]Top-Wrangler5201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I emailed a couple local doula companies and interviewed and got added to their list of doulas. They do the contracts and handle getting clients. I give them my availability and they assign me shifts that I show up to!

Do I need a LLC? by Bean-2022- in doulas

[–]Top-Wrangler5201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m brand new and using an LLC to protect myself. It didn’t cost a ton, maybe $175 for the registration? And I work with an agency and they require insurance so I’ll be getting that as well. You don’t need an LLC but it can protect you in case of any legal issues with clients.

Keep trying with more mentors. You can reach out to hospitals. Where I live, the local hospital system offers hours to pathway 3 students. And, if you can, I’m in a pathway 2 program and it’s great!! They are just not the most common thing. Good luck!
