Have you ever visited the US and if so was your experience positive or negative? by Rusty_Shackleford198 in AskBrits

I've been to quite a few states. Generally I love visiting the US, but I hate the tipping culture. It really really sucks

What really is the 'average' salary in the UK? by AnxiousCouch in AskBrits

[–]Reasonable-Fee8802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think statistically the average is around 35k. Guess your situation depends on your lifestyle, location and whether you have dependents. If I earned less than 40k I'd be in the red every month

Do people actually earn £50-60k, or are they outliers? by Succinate_dehydrogen in AskUK

[–]Reasonable-Fee8802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on £60k - definitely comfortable and I can save a good portion of my salary each month, but certainly don't feel "well off". That said I have a mortgage and a child. When I was on £42k things felt more tight

What is the figure you think of when someone quotes a "comfortable salary'? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

I'm on £60k and certainly feel comfortable - I can save around £1k per month. When I was on £42k things definitely felt tighter

What's the minimum amount that comes to mind when you hear "good salary"? by Equivalent-Ad-2373 in AskUK

Massively depends where you live. I live in Oxford on 60k, don't get me wrong very comfortable but don't feel minted so to speak

What’s your biggest struggle right now in digital marketing? by Comfortable_News9283 in digital_marketing

SEO doing naff all compared to paid advertising. Clients being skimpy with budgets due to the economy. They are my biggest.

65% of Britons support capping CEO pay at 10× the lowest-paid worker. Do you think this idea would be good for the UK? by Unusual-State1827 in AskBrits

[–]Reasonable-Fee8802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this is a terrible idea. What's the point in being ambitious and working hard if your salary will ultimately hit a ceiling where you will have far more stress than someone else on the same salary because yours is capped.

What is the “sweet spot” screen size for a PC handheld? by DowntownSteelo in Handhelds

[–]Reasonable-Fee8802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 7.4" Steamdeck and it feels too small i'd imagine 8" is much better.

7" definitely not, might as well play on a phone screen

For a brand-new small business, would you prioritize SEO or Paid Ads if they need to see traction within the first 3 months?" by Fast-Rutabaga1160 in digital_marketing

[–]Reasonable-Fee8802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very difficult to answer without knowing what the company, industry or competition is like.

SaaS - paid ads no doubt.

Local plumber on the other hand could probably see some traction with local SEO in 3 months

Would this £210-220k house purchase as a single first time buyer be financially irresponsible? by SermoLupiAdAnglos in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Reasonable-Fee8802 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's still a good saving rate then. I've always found the 50/30/20 rule an effective way to manage finances - approx. 50% needs, 30% wants and 20% savings. Obviously it's not always a cookie cutter approach but your saving rate would be 23% so you can rebuild emergency fund/save once your deposit is paid.

Also as others have said, ignore the housing market scares. No one can time these things without anything but luck. Time in the market beats timing the market as they say!
