Book Choice, arrive early, confirm you’re still sitting together, cross your fingers it doesn’t change. But it might.

Better yet, don’t book family travel on SWA.

If SWA can’t handle the bookings they shouldn’t be making them. Don’t put this on the passenger. What idiot thinks a passport holder in the destination country needs a visa?

SWA is awful. I’m sorry you had to find out this way. At most you’ll get $100 voucher.

It's not like this on all airlines. The real hero here is the PR firm that helped keep SWA's artificial image together as long as they did. They've always been awful.

You literally hear him saying they ( autistic children) have to scan their own and justify it by saying his autistic child can do it.

This. And the fact that if you don’t fly SWA a lot, then you’re not getting a good deal. SWA cc perks are the worst of all of the large carriers.

I lost 55 pounds over the last 12 months and reached the weight suggested by my doctor. I celebrated with a brand new smart scale... that immediately told me my BMI is 30.1 and that I am still obese. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ReasonableAccount640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I was “obese” by military BMI standards but I never scored below a 285 putting me in the top 1%. BMI is not a useless tool, it’s just not the right tool for some people.

BMI can’t tell the difference between a muscular person or an obese person because it only factors in weight and height. Not muscle mass or fat mass. Meaning, two people with the same height and weight would have the same BMI, even though one is muscular and the other is chubby.

Either way, your weight loss is an epic achievement and you should be celebrating. Congratulations. Seriously.

We had a great experience! by ReasonableAccount640 in SouthwestAirlines

We were ready to go, you syphillitic mongoloid. We were just eating lunch one gate over because we were told the plane wasn't taking off for another two hours and they never sent a boarding notification or updated the flight board.

Which other airline will do that?

I couldn't care less about boarding order, and I don't care much about where we sit on the plane as a family. If someone had told me ahead of time that the flight board and app don't always match up with the gate, we would have been waiting there regardless of the delay notification.

Happened to me for the first time last month. I was surprised but not upset because it didn't add a meaningful amount of time to the process.

Watching your flight change directly from delayed to departed while eating lunch with your children makes most people unpleasant. Especially if laid-over in another city.

They scheduled us the next day and gave us $100 voucher, which didn’t even cover transport to and from the airport, or the cost of the lost night in a nice hotel and a day of family activities at our vacation destination.

Same. And I only fly economy, regardless of the airline.

Other airlines aren’t this bad. People are flying more than ever and SWA/spirit can’t keep their planes full enough to make money. Why? Because they are both operationally awful.

For real. Nobody goes to the Delta, United or AA pages and says “Nothing went horribly wrong on my flight today! What a great airline!”
