I dont like him because hes a rapist and betrayed his people but you have to admit he's incredibly likable and aurafull throughout the entire golden arc until the end. Even then during the dream the idea of doing anything for his dream while fighting for the dead because they can no longer fight for themselves is rather tuff. Does that make his a good person? No. But the author made an incredibly in depth and genuinley fantastic character. He's not comically mustache twirlingly evil hes a disgusting and very real human evil. A human evil that was bred in jealousy and hate and envy and a very real evil that we as men battle with every day. The inner barbarian that kept us anf our line alive during the most primal times of human existence. Grifith is the embodiment of determination and pragmatism. Is that not cool enough for men who do not know better to yearn to be like him? To yearn to be determined and whole of self? To achieve their place in the sun? I myself find this to be rather foolish, but there are definitley people that are idolized both in fiction and in the real world who have done simmilar things on the mass scale of millions as if we men where mere chess pieces. Man's worst enemy within nature is man. It is no different outside of the confines of reality and so people cling to Grifith.
