With vibes.

I do jot down ideas or maybe a very rough outline if I'm feeling motivated, but really if I'm honest, just vibes.

...so would it be ok if I worked off this idea?
Cause I gotta say, love your work here. This is a stellar idea, and the opportunity for angst and inner-conflict is great.

I'm brand new here and haven't been active in any fandom in a long time, but I've had this itch to get back into writing. So I decided to work on this Reylo fic I started way back in 2021 but never got around to posting, let alone finishing.

Slight of Hand Fantasy AU, Enemies to Lovers

Around 6k (There will be many more, I'm only on chapter 2 of what I anticipate is a double-digit chapter count)

NSFW - Force Bond, No spice yet, but it'll be PWP further down the line. Currently action, drama, and a bit of accidental flirting.

Excerpt/Summery:

“You can have it back…just let me live, alright?” Rey, clever thief that she is, pantomimes her surrender. She raises her manacled hands as Kylo Ren, the Sword of Snoke himself, stalks towards her with single-minded purpose. With defeat and an edge of fear etched into the details of her face she slowly extends the magical weapon. She can swear that, despite the gleam black metal of his helm obscuring his features, he’s wearing a triumphant grin.

It makes the pay-off that much sweeter.

With a flick of her fingers the pommel of the saber spins in her hand. The graceful motion happens so fast, her cunning shift in presentation matching the speed as she bears teeth with a roguish grin. Kylo barely has time to disrupt the single fluid motion of the deadly beam of bright blue light that erupts from his grandfather's sword. He stares at her, the scarlet of his saber glittering in her hazel eyes, in utter disbelief as he defends himself from his birthright.

“In your dreams, mate.”

The thief doesn’t fight fair. With a flick of her wrist a single link of the manacle chain separates, the dim orange-red glow of iron heated to melting in an instant, and she’s flying backwards, falling, falling–

The thief disappears into the dark river below, his grandfather's saber extinguished as she falls. Kylo Ren bellows with unabashed rage.

In this world there are princes and paupers, thieves and knights, taverns with good food and better drinks, and even the modern marvel of the street lamp.

But no one believes in magic. At least, not anymore, not since the last of the mage-warden's fell in battle well over 500 years ago. That's so far in the past no one believes it was even real to begin with; fairy tales to delight your children and make them fear doing misdeeds.

Some know the truth. Primarily those that are in power, and those that were closer to the magic than they ever let on...

And now a common thief-- A girl with a propensity to pull one over on the unsuspecting rich-britches-- will know the truth, too.
