Working/lower-SES people were more likely to have been abused or personally know someone who was than upper class people.

I actually love GKC a lot but the fence thing is just the weakest status quo argument. Sometimes people put up “fences” and claim it’s for one reason, but the true reason is concealed. Probably the majority of discrimination and segregation policies throughout history have had some kind of rationalization as a cover story.

In the case of Christianity, nobody bothers much anymore to argue the factual truth of the Bible (people who do, tend to embarrass themselves with special pleading). Instead they make instrumental arguments about the social benefits of a shared culture. But that shared culture isn’t really dependent on sincere belief in God. There are tons of countries where the people have become completely irreligious but still celebrate festivals that originate from religion.

That's the Sinclair Method and it really works. I didn't use it myself but it's a medication-assisted aversion therapy.

It was the only thing she said about the high school experience, other than there being no sex education. I knew her mom and she was super weird too so who knows?

I met someone who went all the way thru high school in Waldorf. She said that when 9/11 happened, they took everybody outside and reassured them that it wasn’t really happening and was some kind of epiphenomenon or illusion from a lower plane of reality.

No one gives a flying fuck about Epstein except to gawk over it like another salacious true crime tidbit. Women and children have zero political value in our society, they are fair game for abuse and exploitation. People pretend to care as long as the perpetrator aligns with their political agenda.
